Leo and Kate are back together. And, of course, they are both amazing. But Micheal Shannon is probably the real treasure here. Amazing cast, director, and writer!
This movie fell victim to being overexposed... but it's not overrated. It's a cinematic achievement that James Cameron should be undoubtedly proud of. Plus the world finally got to see the innate talent of Kate Winslet (watch Heavely Creatures).
smart movie. brillaint writing, direction, and cast. steven soderbergh knows how to make a movie. the cast was surprisingly amazing. i've never expected much from macdowell and gallagher, but this movie just changes that. truly an overlooked gem.
this isnt a movie about a giant monkey. this is art. naomi watts went unrecognized. let go of pretension, earnestness, and cynicism, and then you can truly see this movie.
the first half of the movie is sooooo perfect. its the post-war stuff that lessens it for me (just a bit)... but atleast its topped off with the immortalized ending.
i was very surprised by this. the trailer led me in a totally different direction to what this movie was about. it looked like a superhero comedy. turned out to be a romance. this had a lot of potential... but it was pretty much wasted.
i don't see what critics have against this movie. yeah its over-dramatic and over-cinematic... but thats why i love it! very clever movie with an amazing cast.
can movies get better than this? if they can then my heart might explode. oh and ulrich muhe should have won every bast actor award imaginable. pure brilliance.
ignorance caught me from liking this movie the first time i saw it. years later i have seen that this is filled with greatness. no one is miscast and all is plausible.
maybe i dont see this movie for what it really is... but i dont care. its amazing, beautiful, and honest. i heard a remake is on the way.... screw hollywood.
