Double Wedding (1937,  Unrated)
Double Wedding
I know some people say this isn't one of their best films, but I don't agree. It is a bit atypical for a Powell/Loy flick, but this makes me like it all the more. Also, Bill Powell's fiance at the time, Jean Harlow died during filming. Despite this, he hasn't lost his funny, charming screen persona. Oh, I find it strange that this movie is called "Double Wedding", yet nobody actually gets married, so it's kind of misleading.
7
Harold and Maude (1971,  PG)
Harold and Maude
Easily in my top 5 films of all time. Ruth Gordon is fantastic!
8
Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927,  Unrated)
Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans
"Sunrise" is a breathtakingly beautiful example of the very best in silent film. I've seen this film three times now, and I enjoy it more at each viewing. "Sunrise" also demands your full attention. Silent dramas are often tedious for a first time viewer for this reason. But, if you give a little more, you get a lot back resulting in total immersion. I really can't praise this movie enough.
9
Annie Hall (1977,  PG)
10
Ninotchka (1939,  R)

This is my favorite Harold Lloyd movie.
12
Safety Last! (1923,  Unrated)
13
The Fountain (2006,  PG-13)
The Fountain
In my original review I gave this three stars - mostly because I couldn't figure out what it was about. After a second viewing I'll give it five. It's a very creative and mind expanding film. Also, the soundtrack is fantabulous!

28
The Wind (1928,  Unrated)
The Wind
This is one of the best silent films ever. I gave it 4 1/2 stars only because the ending is a bit of a let down. The original ending wasn't supposed to be happy, I think they should have kept it that way.

51
The Thin Man (1934,  Unrated)
The Thin Man
If you've never seen a William Powell and Myrna Loy movie, you must start with this one - MUST (they made I think 14 films together). However, being that this is a comedy/murder mystery it does lose some of it's punch the second time around, that is unless you're watching it with a newbie, then it's totally exciting again.
52
Camille (1936,  Unrated)
53
Gilda (1946,  PG)
Gilda
What can I say about "Gilda"? As far as film noir goes, this is one of my very favorites. Rita Hayworth and Glen Ford have great chemistry.

77

78
Harvey (1951,  Unrated)
Harvey
This movie makes me happy every time I see it. If I'm in a bad mood and need to lift my spirits I watch this.
79
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007,  PG-13)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
I think I would have given this 5 stars had I not read the book. They left A LOT out so it was kind of disappointing in that way. On a second viewing however, it was so much better - right up there with the Prizoner of Azkaban.
80
About a Boy (2002,  PG-13)
81
The Big Parade (1925,  Unrated)
82
Mary Pickford - A Life on Film (1999,  Unrated)
83
You Can't Take It with You (1938,  Unrated)
You Can't Take It with You
This film won the Best Picture Oscar for 1938 and it was well deserved. I love this movie with all my heart. It's just simply marvelous. Also, Jimmy Stewart is the cutest guy...ever.
84
The Bourne Ultimatum (2007,  PG-13)
The Bourne Ultimatum
Awesome!!! I really don't have anything else to say.
85
The Pride of the Yankees (1942,  Unrated)
The Pride of the Yankees
Excellent! I'm not a sports fan, but this movie is so touching I couldn't help but love it.
86
A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001,  PG-13)
A.I. Artificial Intelligence
I think this movie is sadly underrated.
87
Into the Wild (2007,  R)
Into the Wild
This movie was amazing. It made me cry though, which was kind of awkward.
88
Sullivan's Travels (1941,  Unrated)
89
Waterloo Bridge (1940,  Unrated)
Waterloo Bridge
Vivien Leigh can do no wrong. I would give this five stars except for the glaring historical inaccuracies that I found distracting. For example - 1940's style clothing during WWI. I also don't recall there being air raids over London during the Great War. Anway, other than that - a great film.
90
The Heiress (1949,  Unrated)
91
Love Finds Andy Hardy (1938,  Unrated)
92
Theodora Goes Wild (1936,  Unrated)
Theodora Goes Wild
I love love love this movie. Irene Dunne is adorable. Too bad nobody has every heard of it.
93
Bachelor Mother (1939,  G)
Bachelor Mother
This is one of the most delightful romantic comedies of the 1930's. I've seen this it about four times now, and it never fails to entertain me.
94
Portrait of Jennie (2002,  PG-13)
Portrait of Jennie
Although flawed, this film holds a special place in my heart. It is without a doubt unique, especially for the 40's. This is also how I discovered Debussy's "The Girl With the Flaxen Hair" my favorite piece of music which was used as the main theme for this movie. If you listen to this enchanting little melody you will find beauty, love and complexity within what is at first listen a very simple tune. This can also describe the magic of "Portrait of Jennie"
95
The Seventh Victim (1943,  Unrated)
The Seventh Victim
Very eerie - not your typical B horror film, it is very stylishly executed. There are some very creepy scenes especially the part in the subway. I only noticed the second time watching this that the father from "Leave it to Beaver" is one of the stars in this very bleak film noir.
96
Brief Encounter (1945,  Unrated)
Brief Encounter
Hearbreaking - a truly perfect film. Rachmaninov's 2nd piano concerto in the soundtrack adds to the beauty of the production.
97
Smultronstället (Wild Strawberries) (1957,  Unrated)
Smultronstället (Wild Strawberries)
I don't know how to describe this in just a few sentences, so I won't. It took a second viewing for me to form an opinion. I highly recommend it though.
98
Top Hat (1935,  Unrated)
Top Hat
This is my favorite Astaire/Rogers movie. The dance to "Cheek to Cheek" is enough to recommend it to anyone.
99
Now, Voyager (1942,  Unrated)
Now, Voyager
I love this movie. Having seen it several times I can say that nothing is lost on each viewing. The best Bette Davis film I've seen so far.
100
Splendor in the Grass (1961,  Unrated)
Splendor in the Grass
Natalie Wood is amazing in this film.
101
Lover Come Back (1961,  Unrated)
Lover Come Back
Best Doris Day movie ever! I liked this better than "Pillow Talk".
102
Love with the Proper Stranger (1963,  Unrated)
103
The Last Emperor (1987,  PG-13)
104
I Love You Again (1940,  Unrated)
I Love You Again
Powell/Loy again. Not my very favorite movie of theirs, but it has one of the funniest William Powell scenes where he dances with himself.
105
Libeled Lady (1936,  Unrated)
Libeled Lady
Jean Harlow, William Powell, Myrna Loy, Spencer Tracy ahhhh! Great stuff. Favorite line?
Justice of the Peace: Well I hope you'll be very happy and don't forget to invite me to your silver anniversary.
Gladys (Jean Harlow): It'll have to be within the next six weeks.
106
Wife vs. Secretary (1936,  Unrated)
Wife vs. Secretary
This has an all star cast, and is the earliest Jimmy Stewart movie I've ever seen. I don't really care for the title, but I love Jean Harlow's role in this as a change from her earlier sassy blonde bombshell image to something more in character with her real life personality.
107
Paper Moon (1973,  PG)
Paper Moon
I love this movie. I also want the soundtrack.
108
Bombshell (Blonde Bombshell) (1933,  R)

Dangerous
I really enjoyed this one. Bette Davis was great.
116
