| Dil Bole Hadippa! (My Heart Goes Hooray!) - Unrated |
I can say i saw this movie in its world premiere, at the TIFF and i got to see Rani (just my bragging rights). Now about the movie, from begining to end this movie was entertaining. Great songs, very happy joyful colourful movie. Okay i'll say it "Fantastic, wow, superb, mindblowing, really amazing yaar". though her voice can pass as a males voice i think rani was great.
Typical bollywood style, this movie is great for family viewing. Two thumbs up. Girl wants to play with the boys and ends up proving to everyone that she has what it takes as she leads her team to victory. Mind you it was funny how they portrayed the Pakistani team as evil, and they made their bowler a jerk. I guess if it was a lollywood film it would have been the other way around. Mind you i probably wouldn't have seen it, as it probably would have been very low budget. But it is nice to see that hatred between countries is politics and people can actually come together and live with each other. |

LOOOONNNNGGGG movie. Song and dance sequence could have been reduced, not every sign required one. The beauty of this movie was who would you choose if everyone looked the same. Personality and character are far greater than looks. When all else is constant who would you click with more. And this movie was exceptional at proving this point. Priyanka played all 12 signs very well.
Harman' character has a brother who is a nut job and wastes 50 crores. Now its up to harman to save him from this financial burden. I wish i had a bhai who would get me out of my financial burdens. This task is a lot easier, i don't owe 50 crore. Now there are 10 days left before the mafia gets their hands on the family and kills the brother, and its up to Harman to find a wife with a dowry large enough to save them all. Anyways, as a scorpio i was hoping he would end up with another scorpio, after all no one else is better, kind of sucked cause by the end of the movie i forgot who he ended up with. BTW read the disclaimer at the beginning of the movie. Scorpios are not that involved in themselves, they are very passionate people yes but that doesn't mean they are concerned about looks. I give this movie a 3/5. |

| Wake Up Sid - Unrated | for all those who watch sawariya, Ranbir kapoor doesn't show his ass in this movie, sorry to disapoint you girls. Wake up sid is a story of a soiled brat who comes of age by learning lifes lessons the hard way, when he gets upset at his parents whch leads to his allowance being cut off. (just because he has psycological issues when he failed his exams. On the plus side his moti dost reminds him she deals with weight issues every day). At the end of the day lesson is learned, boy falls in love with girl, family is happy, and dad and son reunite. The movie was good overall, had some comedic value. | October 4, 2009 | N/A | |||

Story was a little weak, denise richards is old, i guess she needed money thats why she decided to do this movie. stallone' fight scene was hilarious, first time i've seen a hollywood actor fight like a bollywood one. in the end i think akshay was still trying to find true love, when he told her to get in the car to elope, i bet you he was drugged again. he probably came to his senses and walked out of the chapel. who knows, there won't be a sequel. dancing, songs, was aawesome. story line could have been worked on a bit, but overall entertaining. I wish they made it more appealing to the eyes. |

| Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - PG-13 | Megan Fox was amazing. can someone explain the concept behind stealing a scene from Species; where the alien is in bed with sam and a tenticle comes out from behind her to kill him. they should have picked a better not some flesh on a toothpick. I had to keep my laughter in. If Sam was to be seduced by her, he would have needed to see an optomitrist. to review the movie. well......hard to distinguish the transformation, looked like a bunch of scrap metal flying across the screen. The little spy decepticon turned autobot was hilarious along with the twins. Thank goodness for the comedy relief. | Fast and Furious - PG-13 | If you want a night to be entertained where you don't want to think, and you have nothing to do, watch this movie. Don't expect much. Vin Diesel' acting is as convincing as Basillies business proposal to bring a team to hamilton. Meaning Vin' acting may actually be considered acting in the future, but for now, it ain't happening. Why did they have to kill the g/f at the beginning of the movie. That made me loose interest. You can call me shallow but a) I don't really care about metal too much, and b) i'm not interested in starring at vin diesel for 2 hrs. can you blame me. rebel goes on his own, does work feds can't do, teams up with feds, gets pardoned, bad guys caught. LOL.(warning i forget the characters names cause i didn't care abou the movie all too much. I will use the actors names instead. you will not see a rating as it doesn't deserve one.)
if you have seen a christmas carol. do not watch this. I repeat this is exact replica. a) replace scrooge with mathew. b) the 3 ghosts that come visit scrooge, they are the same the visit mathew. c) when mathew realizes his errors and changes his ways he opens up the window seens a kid walking by (its winter time) and says.....yup you guessed it "what day is it today". Christmas carol - everything that made A christmas carol good. Originality none, acting okay. if you've slept with that many people, chances are you'd have a disease of some sort. i'm suprised he didn't die. Jennifer garner what a moron. well i guess mathew should have acted earlier, but still, it was because of her that he became a womanizer, and she had the audacity to get mad at him. can't please everyone can we. | Drag Me to Hell - PG-13 | Good combination of horror and comedy. Some scenes were too hilarious and took away from the movie. for example, the gyspsy (what a great way to give gypsys a good name), bites Christine with no teeth, and some green stuff oozes out, or the talking goat. And who was that assistant guy with the moustache lol. The "llama??" was a nice touch for horror and the way the demon appeared. The acting was not something to boast about. Justin Long seemed as if he was emotionless throughout the movie. It was very pretictable. Seriously who couldn't guess that the two envelopes were swamped. Oh and the demon giving back the sacrifice LOL LOL "I don't want your sacrifice" and he gives the cat back. Sad thing is this movie had so much potential and even come back for a sequal. The sequence with Christine and her coworker stanly was poorly developed. It was rushed and one could see that stanly was only there to play the bad guy. At least let him amount to something, otherwise, you give the story away. Seriously how can you not know that he wasn't going to get the promotion because he would do something stupid. but how funny was he when he got caught. "please don't tell my dad". Lost all respect for christine when she was going to give the button to the old man in the restaurant. At least give it to the waitress or the mother in law. oh well too bad she had to die at the end. I was hoping for an earlier exit for her. Despite my bashing of this movie, it was entertaining and would recommend it to anyone who is into horror. Its not gruesome, which was a relief. | Bart Got a Room - PG-13 | Bart gets a room and danny now feels he needs to get one so as to not be "left out" Big deal! Danny could have used his fathers home, who seems to have been going out on dates, and not there himself. Instead panic strikes the family to try to pull together money to have danny his own room at a hotel with his hooker date. What kind of dad gets his son a hooker for prom night. (and an ugly one at that). This pubescent teenage graduate feels he has to one up everyone, everything for everyone to fit in. (sounds like someone i know but we wont' get into that). This is a movie review. It was ridiculously long drawn, slow and didn't capture my interest. Quality of acting poor. Even with all these obstacles the movie portrays hope, and human ability to overcome such "defects" even if for a moment. | Doubt - PG-13 | Awesome. Meryl Streep great actress, don't know if anyone else could have played the role of principal any better than her. Amy Adams is this innocent sister who sees the best in other people. Do we know what happened to the priest, no! but do we need to know, not really. He could have left the school so as not to create any controversy, or to let things not escalate. His leaving got him a promotion. God takes care of the just. Don't assume things about people if you don't have evidence or you don't know the truth. Too many of us focus on the worst in other people. The fact is that the actions of some people can be genuine, why try to rain on someone elses parade. Is it because there is a void inside of us that doesn't let us accept the goodness of others. Whatever the reason is, when we have doubts let us not be so quick to make a judgement. I'd give this movie 5.5 out of 5 if possible. Read the book of Revelations, it is more accurate. Expressionless. Thats what i got to say about Nicholas Cage and his acting. It was as thrilling as watching grass grow in the winter. Concept was good but what were the whisperers. Aliens, Angels etc are we supposed to know. Will they have a sequel to show us life in the new planet.....if they do, you can bet the acting will be better.
I could understand why the kids took the rabbits to bring aboard the space ship (fertility, paganism etc to me it doesn't matter) Good thing those kids weren't greek otherwise those rabbits would have become Stifado mmmmmmmmmmmmm..... Got nothing else for this movie. You could do something more constructive with your time. |

| Dostana - R | After watching this movie I finally saw how ambishek proposed to Ashwaria. Here it is...prancing through a park with a rose in his mouth. Here's the proposal " Main tum se pyaar forever. Mujse shaadi karogi.". Desi Girl was the only good part to this movie (and priyanka, mere pyaar~ thats why it gets 1 star). Otherwise the movie was horrible. A remake of a hollywood craper. | The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - PG-13 | at times boring, though a condition does exist where people can be born and have their organs work like a 60/80 year olds, but the chances of these people living a long time is limited. at times i thought it was meant to give an excuse to pedofiles. when the old man was playing under the covers with the young girl, or when the old woman was playing with the young brad pitt at the end and nursing him. | Billu - Unrated | If People know you can provide them with something they will always look at taking advantage of you. They will become your friend give you things and treat you well. Once people get tired or they think you can't provide them with what they want, they turn their backs on you and pretend like they don't know you. Life suck like this. But i guess as long as your honest with who you are and are always there to help others out, in the end people will come to respect that and realize who you truly are. Irfan Khan again played an amazing role. Becoming one of my favourite actors. As SRK always cries in his movies I watched for nearly 2.5 hrs and he didn't cry i thought that was odd. But he soon started giving the speach to the bache (kids) and there he went. great old srk, never disapoints. Always needs to cry in every movie. But i guess thats why the ladki love him, he's in touch with his emotions. (i tried that and people called me a pisoglenti~ask your greek friends what that word means). Anyways, awesome movie i recommend it. Though i wish they focused more on the rivalry between the two barber shops and made rajpals character a little funnier. Not a very supportive father or thankful to the son who gave him a better life. Expected Bobby to die, and Sunny to commit suicide. How can you train for 1month and beat the world heavyweight champion giant. Couldn't they find someone better than Luca Gracia or was it Garcia? New York looks very much like Toronto.
