This movie likes to play with your emotions. It definitely got a reaction out of me and everyone else in the theater. Raimi has definitely not lost his touch form his Evil Dead days. :)
Senseless/literal/LAME. Ugh first the Strangers, now this. Both had its moments, but in the end, it's just another movie cashing in on audiences desire for a scary ride.
Even though it was predictable from the get go, this is one of those rare movies where the acting and the cast really made it fun to watch. Great performances all around. j
Obviously it's not gonna live up to the original, so I didn't go in with much expectations. Aside from the sci fi aspect of the story, I liked it for what it was and despite all the negative criticism, it wasn't as bad as some people made out to be, news flash: HF is OLD. All in all, it was just fun to revisit that world and even the subtle nods to the original.
From a Christians perspective, very powerful when you consider the symbolism involved. Darker than the first and just a great addition to the series. *2 Snaps*
Predictable and full of cliches. Would've been better if they just said the house was haunted. The only unsettling aspect is the fact this is 'based' on a true story. As Men on Film would say on ILC, "Hated it~"
Another movie I had low expectations for, esp. after hearing about the story...a white kid finding a mystical staff that takes him to ancient China??...hmm sounded like a Disney movie. But it was actually good. Not the caliber Chan and Li are usually known for, but just a good pop corn film to open the summer. And the white haired chick was cute~
Kinda quirky but also funny and touching. I dunno, I really wanted to like this movie, but felt it was somewhat bland..I think subconsciously, I was expecting some kind Wes Anderson or Michele Gondry flavor to it? Still enjoyable and original though with a good message.
Got more than I expected. Already watched it twice. Perfect cast esp, with RD jr. Can't imagine Tom Cruise and doubt it woulda been as good. Great story, effects with the right amount of humor and wit and 'comic bookiness'.
Another gut buster by Apatow and co. Like most of their movies, you relate to the characters (or maybe it's just me?) More charming than previous movies but still funny!
