Casablanca (1943,  PG)
Casablanca
"Round up the Usual Suspects!"
This film's famous quote by Claude Rains spawned another favoritte movie title!
2
Blade Runner (1982,  R)
Blade Runner
This is a dark look about a future we're more likely to find than the kind we wish for. Think about it. As a film, I'd score it one of my top two favorites of all time.
3
Apocalypse Now (1979,  R)
Apocalypse Now
Actually, watch Apocalypse Now: Redux (2001 extended version) which restores most of the storyline to the film. I'll call it the most existential and surrealistic war film made. It will leave you shocked and drained.
4
GoodFellas (1990,  R)
GoodFellas
An excellent adaptation of the biography of Irish/Italian gangster Henry Hill, who rose to power in the NY mob in the 1960s and 70s. Great acting and cast here. Scorcese at his best. Heck he put his MOM in the picture!

When Harry Met Sally (1989,  R)
When Harry Met Sally
Funny, smart, half the cast of City Slickers, an aging Princess Leia, and a lot of wisdom about modern love guys. You should watch this on a slow night.

Silent Running (1971,  G)
17
Alien (1979,  R)
