My Favorite Movies

  fb615314085's Rating My Rating
1
Bad Taste (2004,  Unrated)
Bad Taste
The combination of an excellent plot and outrageous humour make Bad Taste infinitely better than the mindless splatter of its successor, Braindead.
2
Pulp Fiction (1994,  R)
3
The Birds (1963,  PG-13)
4
Milk & Money (1996,  Unrated)
Milk & Money
By far the most hilarious and bizarre romantic comedy I've ever seen. One of my favourite movies, highly recommended!
5
Mulholland Drive (2001,  R)
Mulholland Drive
For once, being difficult to understand doesn't detract from a film. Rather, it makes Mulholland Drive profound and intriguing. Very cleverly crafted.
6
Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003,  R)
Kill Bill: Volume 1
Brilliant directing and a perfect soundtrack combine to make Kill Bill one of the most beautiful movies I have seen. The variety of Tarantino's homage to previous films overflows with creativity.
7
Sin City (2005,  R)
8
Fight Club (1999,  R)
Fight Club
A perfect combination of insanity and the questioning of society. "We cook your meals, we haul your trash, we connect your calls, we drive your ambulances. We guard you while you sleep. Do not f*** with us."
9
Frenzy (1972,  R)
Frenzy
The abundance of dark humour makes this one of Alfred Hitchcock's great films. A bit cheesy during the serious moments, but that's what makes it so much fun.
10
Hannibal (2001,  R)
Hannibal
Having been intrigued by Hannibal Lecter when he was behind bars, seeing him here on the loose is horrifyingly enjoyable.
11
The Exorcist (1973,  R)
The Exorcist
A benchmark for all horror movies.
12
A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984,  R)
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Fun and very brutal, the way horror movies ought to be. There is nothing quite so entertaining as a 15 year old girl in pyjamas defeating a serial killer.
13
Fargo (1996,  R)
Fargo
A hilarious story of a botched kidnapping, made brilliant by a layer of subtle additional humour.
14
The Silence of the Lambs (1991,  R)
15
The Pink Panther (1963,  Unrated)
16
Austin Powers - International Man of Mystery (1997,  PG-13)
Austin Powers - International Man of Mystery
Simply hilarious. I've seen this more times than any other movie, I just keep going back! The sequels got a little too ridiculous however.
17
A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 - Dream Warriors (1987,  R)
18
Final Destination 3 (2006,  R)
Final Destination 3
It took me a second viewing to realise how much I love this movie. Yes, death has it all planned out, but the entertainment is in the desperation of the characters as they rush from scene to scene only to be splattered in the face with the blood of their next classmate. There's some cheesy moments, particularly the wind gust in the cemetery, but overall it had me on the edge of my seat. It helps that Mary Elizabeth Winstead is hot.
