I wanted to LOVE this movie, instead I just really liked it. The visuals are amazing, and the design of the planet and its inhabitants is just classic James Cameron. It sucks you into this glorious paradise and has you straing in wonder at his new world that's been created. But is this enough to hold you for 3 hours? No. you need to have a solid story that's engaging and enthralling. The story was good, but could have been great. Sam worthington, as both a human and in his alien form, was outstanding and I am now excited to see his new movie Clash of the Titans. supporting cast was solid, and screen time was shared equally among them all. Definitely recommend seeing it in 3D, as this added an all new element to the film. The use of 3D effects, incredible CGI and amazing sound, really show the future of movies and how they have progressed from gone with the end and even star wars. 4 Would I see it again? - maybe. Am I glad I saw it - absolutely. |

Wow - 9 rubber chickens for a low budget south african film, it definitely manages to pack it all in. AWESOME visuals, solid story, interesting characters. Grabs you, shakes you and never lets go. Beware of the OTT violence....that definitely took me by surprise |

Loved it!! QT is back in a big way Yes, it's totally OTT, and dramatic license has been taken with history...but who the hell cares...it's Quentin's take on WWII. Story flies along, great characters, crazy action, and classic Tarantino dialogue. 9 rubber chickens. Don't wait for DVD, don't' illegally download it. Go to the cinema and support this movie!! |

| The Ugly Truth - R | Entertaining but unoriginal flick. Is carried by Butlers roguish charm and outlandish bluntness. Interesting to note that the film is entirely produced by women, yet it feels like the women are the butt of all jokes, and suffer from poor stereotypes.....is this the new direction that Hollywood is taking? | August 30, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - PG-13 |
So what's this film got? It has a story that slams along from one action sequence to the next. It has massive robots, duking, shooting and slashing it out. It has a HOT looking Megan Fox. It even has some funny one liners. BUT, what it does not have is movie magic brilliance. Sure, it's entertaining, but for some reason it just can't seem to match it with the first movie. At 2 and a half hours, it's maybe 30 mins to long. However, my biggest gripe with the movie, was the inability to tell what the hell was going on in some of the major battles. All that could be seen was flying metal limbs, and explosions left, right and centre. Transformers are being ripped asunder in most scenes, and you can't even tell who they are. I did enjoy this film, and I'll probably see it again, but for some reason, the magic of the first one just wasnt here. |

SOOO funny...I need new underwear from laughing so hard at these clowns. One of Todd Phillips best films. Easily on par with Road Trip and Old School. Mr Chow - "Toodooloo Mother f%#$ers!!" |

| Star Trek - PG-13 |
brilliant reboot of a series that has recently lost its way. All the characters are brilliantly reintroduced to a new generation of fans. I now understand why this film was receiving so much hype over the last few weeks. The normally solid eric bana is the only real weak link in this film as the constantly brooding bad guy. |

| The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas) - PG-13 | Gut wrenching movie about a terrible time in 20th century history. The film is slow, but by no means boring. Hard not to be touched by the story or the characters. | May 5, 2009 | N/A | |||
