Lady Sings the Blues Lady Sings the Blues R
If you see this move, do not view it as a "black" movie about Billie Holliday. It's the ultimate love story about a man, who will do anything for the woman he loves. Some of the story departs from her real life story, but remember, its a movie, its hollywood!! Diana Ross and newcomer at that time Billy Dee Williams gave superb performances that should have garnered Academy Awards. But seeing as this was made in 1972, that wasn't going to happen. Richard Pryor did a very good job as well. Diana is still my favorite singer to this day, simply because of this movie. Outstanding!! The young artists today can't touch her or compare anything they've done with Diana's performance in this movie. Oh yeah, by the way....Billy Dee Williams, with no shirt on and just blue silk pajama pants....oh lawd....I was about 7 or 8 when I first saw the movie and I lost my mind!!! Gorghus!!
The Color Purple The Color Purple PG-13
Everyone in this movie deserved an Oscar, not a nomination, but awarded an Oscar. And to think they actually gave one to Halle Berry for that crap she did in Monster's Ball!! Sad society we live in.
