Private's Favorite Movies
V for Vendetta
R
The film V for Vendetta, is a masterpiece, from the beginning monologue V became one of my very favorite characters. He's no simple hero, driven by justice and vengeance V embodies an ideal that I very much believe in People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people". I felt much sympathy for V; hes a victim of an oppressive regime. One scene I found quite moving, was the scene where V asked Evey to dance with him to Julie London's Cry me a River", hes heard all the songs but never danced to any of them, V's character showed much loneliness and frustration at his disfigurement. The movies depth is astonishing, this is no mere action movie and everything is interconnected and revealed in the domino scene, truly a masterpiece of film in this century.
I Am Sam
PG-13
I am Sam is one of the most touching movies I have ever watched. Its a story of a mentally handicapped father fighting for the right to raise his daughter. This movie is warm, funny and absolutely heart-breaking, I am not ashamed to admit that when Lucy was being pulled away from her father I cried.
