The Crow

One of the best movies I've ever seen. This is what going to the theater is all about. At its core is an undeniable level of love and sheer humanity conspiring to defeat all odds, even death, in the face of what is right and true. In a way, this is a fairy tale for a disgruntled, jaded, and disillusioned generation, a reminder of the existence of deeper meanings behind what we, too, have come to call important.
The Ninth Gate

An excellent, eerie thriller with a spectacular portrayal of evil. You're never quite sure what to think about anybody, and the ending is dead on with Depp's character. Anybody with a love of good books will love this movie (I also advocate reading El Clubbe Dumas, or however it's spelled in its original Spanish; read the English translation if you have to).
