Jennifer's Body - R Designed for horny tennage boys. Megan Fox skinny dipping, lesbian kissing, and raping/ killing.

It had its moments if you're into dark humor and demons.

Where the Wild Things Are - PG Surprising dark and boring movie about an unhappy child (probably with ADHD or an anxiety disorder) who invents an imaginary world to deal with his personal demons.

Each monster represents a part of his personality (and one his disinterested sister who doesn't know how to deal with him). The main point of the movie is that no "king" or magical force is going to rescue you if you're unhappy. That's just the way it is.

The dominant monster is angry, self-destructive, and over-sensitive (thinks everything is a personal attack on him). Voiced perfectly by James Gandolfini.

The movie closes with the exhausted and frustrated mother passing out as her awful child fills his face on cake for supper. Morbid stuff.

The only scene that appealed to my kids was a dirt clump fight (kind of like a snowball fight). This movie is NOT FOR KIDS. It's for psychology buffs - odd considering it's based on a cute kid's storybook.

The Hangover - R One of the more clever comedies in the last few years. December 28, 2009

Taken - PG-13 As expected. A spy takes on the world to save his daughter from the disturbingly large "human trafficing" industry. It was fun. December 28, 2009

Marie and Bruce - Unrated The worst movie ever made! December 20, 2009
N/A
Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian - PG Geared toward teenagers who would know of all the characters. My kids left 1/3'rd way through. While NATM1 was original, the sequel is disappointing and the jokes were corny. December 14, 2009

The Princess and the Frog - G Braved the cold, bad roads, and unreal traffic and wasn't disappointed. It is your typical Disney flick. Not very long, lots of songs. Kind of like Little Mermaid with a spooky, voodoo twist. The songs are really good - a jazzy New Orleans cajun twang. December 13, 2009
N/A
Cloverfield - PG-13 Godzilla meets Independence Day meets Blair Witch. Wasn't as scary as I thought. Very well done and fun. November 24, 2009
N/A
Flash of Genius - PG-13 True story about the man who missed his 6 kids growing up so he could make Ford pay for their wrongdoing. I'm glad you got your $10M but that's too big a sacrifice. November 19, 2009

Changeling - R Very long, emotionally draining movie based on a true story. It is very rare that a movie can take me to the depths of uncontrollable sobbing and keep me awake all night. Very graphic, very disturbing, very well done. Definitely not for anyone unless you like movies that shake you to the core. If you liked A Perfect World with Kevin Costner, this is for you. 27 Dresses - PG-13 Typical rom com drivel. November 17, 2009

The Twilight Saga: New Moon - PG-13 November 17, 2009

Boys Town - Unrated True story. Spencer Tracy's good acting makes up for the cheesy performances by the kids. It is sappy and sentimental but ok. Gives you a taste of old film making. November 6, 2009

Sunshine Cleaning - R Warm hearted drama about a girl whose life is falling apart. Good acting and wonderful ending. October 28, 2009
N/A
Arabesque - PG AWESOME thriller. Keeps you on the edge of your seat. And Sophia Loren when young may be the most gorgeous woman ever born!!! October 27, 2009
N/A
The Gathering - R Wife watched a movie about some cursed souls who witnessed Christ's murder. She said it was ok but Christina Ricci's acting was lacking (kind of like Black Snake Moan). October 27, 2009

Up - PG Light hearted, sweet tale about an old man living his dream while forming a friendship with a boy and dog in the process. One of those films that put a smile on your face. October 27, 2009
N/A
Rich and Strange - Unrated Disappointing film. It's a corny comedy more than the typical Hitchcock brilliance. October 27, 2009
N/A
Sabotage - R Excellent! Hitchcock at his finest. Creepy acting. A tragedy gone wrong that is wrapped up nicely in the end. The leading woman is gorgeous (nothing new for Hitchcock movies). October 27, 2009
N/A
Blackmail - Unrated Hitchcock flick that's warped. The girl is so stupid it's weird. Suspenseful but lacking. Hitchcock was just starting to make films at this time, it's obvious. October 27, 2009
N/A
The Lady Vanishes - Unrated Typical, interesting Hitchcock flick. Twists and turns at every corner. October 27, 2009
N/A
Bye Bye Birdie - G Didn't know it was a musical. Kids liked the songs but it was lame. Cool to see Ann-Margret for real as a youngster (not a cartoon version in the Flintstones). October 27, 2009

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof - Unrated Dialogue gets moving when Burl Ives arrives. What you get most out of this show is how stunningly beautiful Elizabeth Taylor was. October 27, 2009
