Slumdog Millionaire - R This is a truly wonderful film!
Danny Boyle takes you on a journey through Jamals' tragic life and heartfelt relationship with his brother and you really feel his love for the girl who got away. The music and visuals were great and the screenplay was really well written. I hope it wins best picture at the Oscars!

Bedtime Stories - PG A great family film in that it's entertaining and a great escape from the everyday grind. It takes your mind to that happy Disney place. I loved the scenes with Russell Brand and also though Guy Pearce was brilliant. I did not however feel the romance between Sandler and Kerri Russell. They were bland together but I guess that's as good as it gets with a PG rating. January 18, 2009

Changeling - R Clint Eastwood does not disappoint. A bit disturbing and dark, but it kept my attention, as I was hoping to find the same answers as Angelina Jolie's character. She gave a surprisingly good performance and it was a good depiction of the corrupt LAPD of the 1920's and 30's. January 18, 2009

The Wrestler - R This movie was a bit on the depressing side, but Mickey Rourke gave such a stellar performance that I wanted to reach through the screen and give him a hug and tell him everything was going to be okay. haha. January 18, 2009

Doubt - PG-13 Philip Seymour Hoffman and Meryl Streep were amazing. This is true acting, when a movie keeps you on the edge of your seat with nothing more than dialogue and a few simple settings. Great screenplay. Great acting. Great cinematography. January 16, 2009

Step Brothers - R This was one of the best comedies I've ever seen. I thought it would be cute but kind of on the boring side. On the contrary, I can watch it any day of the week and find more and more subtleties that make me laugh. I seriously laughed so hard that tears were running down my face. John C. Reilly cracks my ass up in this movie, he was so good and they take their humor to that grade school level but somehow it works. "Shut your mouth, esse!" January 4, 2009

Yes Man - PG-13 It was a fun and charming movie. Zooey Deschanel is adorable. It made me think about all the invitations I've turned down in the past and that I should probably say yes more often! January 4, 2009

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - PG-13 The movie was entertaining and a bit more creative than the original short story. It was enjoyable overall, but i thought the narration and hospital scenes could have moved along a bit quicker and that they needed to spend a few more weeks in the editing room deleting some scenes. Across the Universe - PG-13 a bit long. weak acting. weak character development on some of the characters. beautiful music. cool choreography. great visuals. February 19, 2008

The Savages - R mostly boring and depressing. phillip seymore hoffman is great and i enjoy laura linney, though if i were you, i wouldn't not run out to rent it. February 16, 2008

Away from Her - PG-13 sweet. sad. boring and slow mostly. but nice to see a story about the possibilities, love and heartbreak that can accompany us later in life. julie christie was great but not as great as it has been built up in the award shows. February 16, 2008

Eastern Promises - R good story. kept my interest in terms of wanting to know the outcome. viggo mortensen was good. not sure he deserves best actor, but good. and we get a sneak peak at his goods. lol February 16, 2008

3:10 to Yuma - R I didn't get the first 1/2 hour because it was just a bunch of gun fights but once it got into the story it was entertaining. i liked it. didn't love it. russel crowe and christian bale both great actors. brought westerns back to life. February 16, 2008

Into the Wild - R Direction was superb. Cinematography and music were beautiful. Great writing. This character lived what I have only dreamed of doing after living in bustling cities like LA and Philadelphia and being chained to a desk for 9 hours a day. Total freedom. I loved it! Le Scaphandre et le Papillon (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly) - PG-13 unique, heartbreaking, beautiful cinematography. definitely taught me to be more patient and to truly appreciate all that I have in life. January 14, 2008

I'm Not There - R As much as I love Bob Dylan and as much as I love an artsy film, I could not stay interested in this one. It jumped all over the place and did not make much sense to me. I started not caring at all about the story. The individual actors were great with what they were given and the music of course was beautiful, but as a whole I thought this movie was bore city. There Will Be Blood - R Daniel Day Lewis is a genius thespian in this film. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat and at times sends a chill down your back. The music was a bit over the top at times and I was a little confused with Paul Dano playing both Eli and Paul Sunday. But all in all, a great film. January 14, 2008
