The Nightmare Before Christmas - PG I love it from the first time I saw it and each time I watch it again in TV. Jack O' Lantern is disappointed that there are less people having a good time on Haloween each year, so he decides to try taking over Christmas.

I love it not just because of the visuals (outstanding lighting and animation quality; one could never be sure whether it is 3d or traditional animatronics), its theme of soul searching and trying to be someone you're not really resounds with me. An excellent movie for all ages.

Bruce Almighty - PG-13 personally I love it, but the agnosticism may turn off some christians while the christian undertones would offend some agnostics. Keep your political religion in your pocket and you'd enjoy it more. November 12, 2007

The Matrix - R The best in the trilogy. You can watch it over and over. Despite the accusations of copying ghosts in the shell, Rene Descartes invented the brain in a jar concept way before either movies. Entertaining and philosophical at the same time. November 12, 2007

Ocean's Eleven - PG-13 I haven't seen the Frank Sinatra/Rat Pack original, so I'll reserve giving it a full five stars for now. Very entertaining nonetheless November 12, 2007

American Pie - R Despite its borderline NC-17 jokes, it still manages to be just "acceptable" enough for the whole package to be very entertaining. November 12, 2007

The Ring - PG-13 Some says the Japanese original is scarier, but personally I was more freaked out by this US remake November 12, 2007

Rocky - PG Both Rocky and Rambo, the first in each series, are IMHO very interesting character studies November 12, 2007

The Day After Tomorrow - PG-13 It's okay; the plot seems a bit rushed though. I'm kinda green thus the extra star. November 12, 2007

Austin Powers in Goldmember - PG-13 Okay for a few laughs, but doesn't stand the test of repeated viewing. November 12, 2007

The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King - PG-13 The trilogy IMHO is better watched as a series; watching them individually makes you curious for the other two. Otherwise a very entertaining movie for all ages. November 12, 2007

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - PG-13 An okay visualization for the movie. The acting and the compressed plotlines do leave something to be desired, though. November 12, 2007
