Once Upon a Time in the West
PG-13
Easily my favorite film of all times. I have watched it at least 10-15 times and love it even more every time I watch it.

Barry Lyndon
PG
Definitely a forgotten Kubrick classic that shows his eye for detail and the painstaking amount of time he spent researching for his Napoleon movie he never got to make. This is one of those movies that takes multiple views to truely apprichate it's merits. I orginally did not care much for this film, but after watching it a second time I feel in love with the epic scale of the film. The costumes, the set design, the lighting, music and just about everything about this film is just beautiful. It's just amazing how Kubrick used mostly candles to light all the indoor scenes. I personally think this is Kubrick's best film.

Ran

This is my favorite Kurosawa film, which is saying a lot considering I love every single movie Kurosawa directed (yes, even Dreams)

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring

Breathtaking film. Words can't describe how well directed this movie is. The movie has maybe 10 lines worth of dialog, but has one of the most moving stories ever.

Chinjeolhan geumjassi (Lady Vengeance) (Sympathy for Lady Vengeance)
R
Beautifully shot and wonderfully put together. It's just a treat to watch the film even if you don't have subtitles to follow the plot. The story itself is a big departure for Chan-wook Park from his previous themes.

The River
Unrated
Beautiful colors and amazing cinematography. It's almost like the characters take a back seat and the focus is mostly on the colorful landscapes of India. This is easily Renoir's best film, at least the best out of all his films that I have watched.
