I had a blast watching it. At times the faux-documentary format kind of annoyed me, but this film really used the hand-held camera approach during the action scenes well. This is how you make action scenes! I also loved the not so subtle social commentary peppered throughout the film. And the cast was superb!
I swear 90% of the CGI in this film was at video game level. The only enjoyable scene was the car chase in Paris. Rest is bunch of blurry, shaky-cam action scenes tied together with some paper thin plot. Is it really that hard for them to make a watchable action film where the fights scenes are not so boring?
It had some really great scenes and ideas, but at times it kind of reuses the same ideas many other rom-coms have used to death. But I was surprised to enjoy it and was nothing like what I expected it to be.
I don't think I loved it as much as everyone else, but the opening montage of his life was perfect. I loved that scene, but I was "meh, kids movie" towards rest of the film. Definitely letdown for film that followed up Wall-E
