To me this is Carpenter's masterpiece,i think it's as close to perfect filmmaking as it gets.The film is paced perfectly taking its time to create mood and atmosphere.By taking the first half of the film to build the suspense we feel the tension,we get to know the characters enough to care what happens to them.When the very few bloodless killings arrive they have huge impact due to the slow build up,bringing up the minimal,repetitive score and masterful camerawork.So with brilliant filmmaking,storytelling,a great cast and a killer who can scare you more with a tilt of his head than most modern movie psychos ever could Carpenter/Hill delivered the greatest horror film ever made with no time,no money and no blood.
