lol,Like I was ever going to give this anything less than 5 stars. In fact just imagine that I drew another 3 or 4 stars on there,Cause YA its just that dam good.I was ready to be blown away and I got just that.Incredible sound too,I want to marry the THX guy.Anyway The cast is so good,I dont know about Maggie though I just don't dig on her too much, but thats a personal thing nothing to do with the movie. So lets get dirty then,Non stop action,It was over before I knew it,A few people have commented how long it seems and that they thought it should be shorter,Um I wasn't ready for it to be over. The whole ferry scene was really a trip,I didn't expect that, very cool.Heath Ledger was absolutely magical,in fact his magic trick made my tummy do a little flip too,but he IS the joker,I will probably get a lot of shit for this I DON"T CARE!Bring it!!! Not only does Heath Ledger play the Joker he evolved into the joker and I am sorry I think he makes Jack Nicholson's joker look like child's play.He smacked his version right outta the dam park !There just IS no comparison.Dark,demented,FEARLESS.I love every twisted second he was on the screen.I can't explain the exhilration of finally getting to see this after waiting for what seemed like eternity,It seemed like the wait got longer too after Heath passed away. But it's like stepping into the front car of the brand new roller coaster and literally after the DC comics logo flashed and it was beginning I felt myself take a deep breath,I knew I was in for a great ride.I shit you not I was like Christmas for me today.I know there will be other good movies this year,I won't LET anything in my heart or mind surpass this movie.Oh and families on a tight budget,I get it,but hear me out.If you have 1 movie that you can go to all year and see in the theater you want it to be this one,I guarantee it.Anyone who waits for this to come out on DVD ,you are cheating yourself out of the full experience.Nolan is a brilliant ,brilliant man, nothing was left out.Seriously, riveted the entire time, the music, plot, characters, everything was totally ON POINT.Here I am adding my extra stars here.Go see this movie ASAP!!! =)***** and 5 more for Heath *****

Ok ya'll OMG! I KNOW I am going to hear so much crap about this, but hear we go I am stepping out on a limb and owning this.Ok for some wacko reason I thought I had seen this movie thats why it was rated this whole time.Um yeah well, over the past week I have been in an argument with myself about Christian Bale being Batman,I remember Kilmer,Keaton blah blah but trying to recall details with Bale was leading to no where. So luckiliy it was showing on cable and lo and dam behold I just watched this for the first time tonight. What an AWESOME movie.Liam Neeson was a great surprise.I loved it beginning to end,I am SOOOOOO ready for The Dark Knight its like the kid who can't sleep the Night before Christmas. It's ridiculous!Anyway so there is my ugly confession of the week.I sure do wish I knew the reason that Katie Holmes did not want to play Rachel in the Dark Knight,if anyone knows will you please fill me in.Oh,by the way if you as well have not seen this.I totally recommend it.Especially if you want to be fully ready for The Dark Knight.=)

So, what to say about one of the hypes of the year? That the first 30-45 minutes underwhelmed me a little, where there was a lot of politics and crime talk but not really all that much Batman, which made it almost feel like a superhero stumbling into a Michael Mann thriller? That I kinda missed Gotham City having a unique and at least semi-comic-esque look, like in the old films and still parts of Batman Begins, because it just looked like Chicago (which it was as an intentional choice by the creators, but not what I want in a Batman film)?
No, let's not talk about that. Before you're starting to think I didn't love this movie let's get to the acting, directing and especially and the second half of the film. Holy crap.
How Nolan managed to turn the excitement screw closer and closer with every minute of the movie with the character triangle of Batman, Dent and the Joker was just amazing. The action, the timing, the dialoges, the plot, the surprises: perfect. The whole showdown with the two boats and all twists and turns that included was just genius.
All that was not only thanks to a great script but actors at the pike of their abilities. People like Bale, Freeman and Caine always deliver great performances, but the winners of this movie were others for me.
    a) Aaron Eckhart who was a perfect Harvey Dent, for a while even felt like an equally important co-star to Batman / Wayne.
    b) Gary Oldman whose part as Gordon was so much more satisfying and interesting than still in the first movie, carried by his wonderful performance.
and then c) there was the late Heath Ledger, who somehow wasn't there. I didn't think of him for a second during the movie, because I was watching the Joker, this insane, funny, creepy madman who was pulling all those strings. He will be remembered and talked about for this role for a very long time.
In short, the second half blew me away so much that it more than made up for a few bumps in the first.
Easily the best Batman movie so far.
Hey, you should really see this! One of the movies of the year, no doubt.

    Mamma Mia! Mamma Mia!

    Released: 2008
Stars: Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan,Colin Firth and Julie Walters
    Genre: Musical/Comedy
    Country: UK/USA

    Photobucket

20 year old Sophie (Seyfried) is preparing to marry her boyfriend Sky (Cooper) at her mother's hotel on an island in Greece. She seemingly has it all; a carefree life, loving boyfriend and happy friends but one thing has been missing all her life; a father.

I have to admit that when we deciided to see Mama Mia!, my family and I, I wasn't sure what I would make of it at all. I know Abba songs like the back of my hand, never saw the musical but was sure I might dance a long at some stage. For sure I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Mama Mia has a certain charm to it that you can't ignore and I'm sure it will be one of the biggest hits of the summer.

The appeal of Mama Mia! is set in the songs and the brilliant cast. All the songs tell sophie's story well and you begin to like the characters a lot, but most likely Meryl Streep's character Donna. Donna is unaware of her daughter's actual father, any of the 3 leading men we see in the film; Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan and Stellan Skarsgård. All three do sing in the film and at times it can be quite funny. I'm sure not everyone wants to see the last James Bond actor sing his heart out to SOS or Stellen Skarsgard sing Take a Chance on Me, but really folks forget all that and just enjoy a fabulous film. I know Brosnan took a year of singing lessons and doesn't sound bad at all. Not so sure about the paring of Streep and Brosnan but that was only a minor flaw.

The set for Mama Mia, that being in the Greek Islands looks lovly on screen and some great shots of the actual island on helicopter which really gives you that "summer feeling" and actually made me forgets seriously analysing this film, if you see what I mean. Naturally the cheography is brilliant, most notably with Dancing Queen which, If I had the chance, I would have danced near my seat. Meryl streep can certianlydance around, as can Julie Walters both in their late 50's.

Now for the acting. To be honest I think the acting fitted well to the story. I felt most of the actors played a more laid back approach, as indeed this is not a serious film and shouldn't be taken as to be. JUlie Walters was brilliant to watch and lights up every scene she's in, including her hilarious rendition of "Take a Chance on Me." Colin Firth doesn't really do an awful lot but does sing, which wasn't that bad. Stellen Skarsgard, as most of the cast aren't that bad either.

The script is a plain and simple story but very funny and very well done indeed. I;, sure a lot of it was sidreted at die hard Abba fans but I certainly enjoyed it a lot. What's great is that the film is very funny and can divert your attention away from any pretenious bits that might annoy you, as not everything is going to break into song.

I can't recomend this enough. If there's one film that you should see it's Mama Mia! Can't tell you how much fun I had watching this.

    Highly recomended

    8/10

Jim Gordon: " Dent, where's my family?"
Harvey Dent: "where my family died."

I skipped my 2 hrs class just to watch The Dark Knight before it's too damn crowded, & it's worth the Hell... It's simply the best Movie of 2008 so far & without a doubt the best superhero Movie ever made.

The Movie proves that a born filmmaker can improve a comic book genre that has been existed for a decades ago into a Movie genre that will make everyone think that Comic book Movies are no more kiddie stuff.

I was blown away by the Actors' performances especially the late Heath Ledger's. His Joker performance is nothing but an Oscar worthy, simply making Jack Nicholson's Joker performance to be nominated for a Razzie. & yes, that tragic Death faking scene is uncut, felt a little sad for him when I saw that scene.

I have personally watched The Dark Knight 3 times & I still have a plan to watch it again. If you haven't seen it even until now, maybe it's now the time to grab a ticket , & you'll know why it tops IMDB's top 250. Movie marketings says "I Believe In Harvey Dent" & I say " I Believe in Nolan", he's now becoming one of the best directors of our time.

Words cannot describe how good this Movie is. Highest Resolution Camera, Oscar worthy performances, A good storyline & the most tragic adaptation from Books to Movie, stunning visual & sound effects, a non-stop 2:30 hrs ride, & simply challenging other superhero genres to make one like this or even closer to this. What you'll need more for a Movie???

<< "You see, nobody panics when things go according to plan. Even if the plan is horrifying. If I told people that , tomorrow a gangbanger is going to get shot, or a truckload of soldiers are going to get blown up, nobody would panic because it's all part of the plan. But tell people that one tiny little mayor is going to die and everyone loses their minds!" >>
Go & see this Superhero masterpiece & the last & best performance by Heath Ledger.

Christopher McCandless: [written into book] Happiness only real when shared.

(In and of itself,How powerful and profound is that?)This is movie was so much more than I expected.A real journey,a breaking free from everything.Emile Hirsch has a whole new respect in my book, any actor thats willing to drop alot of weight for films is pretty dedicated.I also read some other interesting things on IMDB.Anyway this is a very emotionally driven movie. It was so sad at points with his family that was left behind,so utterly broken from his 'disapperance'.Only his sister really understood him.He met some unconventional characters along the way,he had fun,he had an amazing adventure and this man saw things in this world most of us will never ever, even get close to.He found the beauty in the simplicity of just being. This is a beautiful but tragic true story this is highly recommended =)

Alrighty then!!! eh Hem.Next time I will do a lil more research before I just pop down and watch the next friendly Flix recomendation.Ok so no this isn't porn, but its right up there, and a lot of people I know would have not made it past the first 5 minutes. But because I am open minded I wanted to give it a chance. Not all scenes were for me,saying that there actually is a great story that goes along with this film.About real people, with real problems, and real sexual issues that are just trying to get their lives sorted out.If you can be open minded and know there will be guy on guy scenes you will be fine.If not don't bother,You will just get mad at me for not warning you.Have fun =)

Another great film penned by Tarantino, this tells the story of a escort girl Alabama and comic book store worker Clarence (Patricia Arquette and Christian Slater) who find true love in each other after she is set up with him by a friend of his. Deciding to flee after Clarence has a run in with one Alabama's pimp Drexl Spivey (Gary Oldman), they take a suitcase with half a million dollars worth of raw, uncut cocaine with them to Los Angeles to try and sell it, despite having a mob from Detroit (led by Christopher Walken) as well as the LAPD on their tails. They find Clarence's friend Dick (Michael Rapaport) who helps them find a buyer for their cocaine through a friend high up in the movie industry.

A huge cast and Tarantino's story makes it another modern classic.
This was shown as part 2 of a Quentin Tarantino written double bill, and was definitely the better of the 2 movies.

Despite most of the big-named cast having very little time in this movie (Gary Oldman only having 2 scenes in the entire movie, Samuel L Jackson on screen for 2 minutes tops, Christopher Walken having one scene in the movie etc.), it's still a definite must-see movie.

An ultra-violent modern classic, it goes all out with the bloodshed, especially in telling the backstories of the two main characters who, despite being evil personified, we're made to feel sympathy for in the second half of the movie after spending the first half murdering everyone who gets in their way. When in prison for most of the second half of the movie, the TV media glorifying their brutal mudering spree are shown as the real villains of the story as they look for ratings, little knowing that the situation will turn against them when taking their endorsement of the killers one step further.
I saw this as part 1 of a Quentin Tarantino written double bill, and I'd highly recommend it, despite being the weaker of the two moviesshown that night.
A fantastic cast, including Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis as the fictional Bonnie and Clyde of the story help keep the viewers watching the movie. Tommy Lee Jones makes the most of what little time he has on screen and Robert Downey Jr's at his best. Be warned though, it's for people with strong stomachs only, and definitely not something you should see while drunk/stoned/tripping.

This came from a recommendation (Thanks Blake) ,I had put it off for a few weeks because of the subject matter. It is excruciatingly hard to watch.I mean these 3 little 8 year old buys died. Not only did they die they were brutally tortured, mutilated, raped ,bludgeoned, and drowned,Yeah all while being hogtied. This movie made me ill as a mother.Made me disgusted the way these redneck ass hillbilly, Mutherfuckers treated this case!Um "Lost the evidence'????WHAT????? Oh Lord ,My heart goes out to the parents of these 3 little boys,What they had to see and hear in that courtroom would haunt me forever in my dreams.I really want to watch part 2 of this now.The ending which I won't give away even though this movie has been out forever is soooo unsettled. There is a HUGE curveball thats thrown into the whole mix towards the end that leaves me really wondering did these 3 boys do this. Were they capable of pulling off all that had to be planned and done.Or were they just ,normal teens, talkin trash, dressing different, and by golly you can't like in the dam Bible belt and believe in anything other than God or even think it or you will surely burn in Satan's Lap (rolls eyes).Anyway please chat back with me if you have seen this one,I would love to gear the thoughts of others.Blake you first buddy.=)
