| Titanic - PG-13 | However trite some of the dialogue is, the quality of production is an eye filling all consuming experience. James Cameron's talent for detail, savvy storytelling and magnetic leads is what makes Titanic a film worth at least several viewings. | April 3, 2007 | N/A | |||
| Children of Men - R | Even though this is set in the future, I was surprised how it challenges a lot of modern day politics. I love the vivacity and immediacy of the directing and cinematography style; Cuarón carefully constructed a future that felt all to close. | April 3, 2007 | N/A | |||
| Casino Royale - PG-13 |
Casino Royale breaths new life into a flagging Bond franchise with a brilliant new look and a brand new James Bond. From the start we jump into a spectacular action sequence letting us know right off that Daniel Craig is like nothing we have seen in the last couple of Brosnan outings. Here was a physical, rugged, sweaty male lead who bled and hurt just like the rest of us. I really liked that he wasn't perfect, and in many ways, was just a trainee who still made a hell of a lot of bad judgment calls. He's driven by his ego and need to succeed and that is a weakness that is exposed.
I also appreciated the effort put into character development, not just for JB but also for Vesper, Casino Royale's designated "Bond girl". She comes across as a strong and complicated woman that was a stretch beyond what I've come to expect with the women in Bond films. Overall, this is a entertaining, stylish film minus the gimmicks, and the first time I staked some emotional claim to this character. |

| Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan - R | I felt guilty about half of the jokes I laughed at or cringed (then laughed) at the rest, but the point is I laughed! Out of everything though the one scene that still haunts me is the naked fight over the Baywatch book. ::shutters:: | April 2, 2007 | N/A | |||
| Blood Diamond - R | April 2, 2007 | N/A | ||||
| Stranger Than Fiction - PG-13 | Stranger Than Fiction does for Will Ferrell what The Truman Show did for Jim Carrey. It puts the over the top comedian in a low key role with subtle humor that is touching and even a little relatable. Because who hasn't felt like they've become a slave to their daily routines? | April 2, 2007 | N/A | |||
| Dead Poets Society - PG | April 2, 2007 | N/A | ||||
| Little Children - R | April 2, 2007 | N/A | ||||
| Muriel's Wedding - R | I dare you not to love Toni Collette as quirky and loveable Muriel, or hum Dancing Queen for the next week for that matter. | April 2, 2007 | N/A | |||
