Absolutely beautiful film! I thank my dearest friend for introducing me to the amazingness that John Cameron Mitchell is. If you are a rock and roller at heart you will enjoy this no matter what, the storyline is amazing, never a dull moment whilst the artist in the search for his true self...stunning. a MUST.

An exquisitely amazing,sad yet inspirational film. There are almost no words to describe the grandeur of this film other than truly amazing...it deserves the highest rating possible . Is about the first openly gay elected official in SF Harvey Milk, the success and sacrifices it took him to get to that place. To be able to see and somehow feel as if you are actually experiencing the late '70's Gay rights movement was so highly touching and hopeful, there is only one message put forth and the most important one 'Yes, we can'. To actually see footage of the Castro District back then is so empowering, it lets you know you are/will never be alone; everyone struggles and if you struggle and fight right you will get what you fight for. Another one of the messages, it only takes will power to do, believe and stand your ground no matter what. Not only will you be helping yourself but a lot of others as well. You can save lives by taking action. And as you will see, it is a never-ending struggle. We are living this again and much the same as it was lived 50 years ago. Personally, I could relate to this a lot, which is sadenning, but it gives you hope. Sean Penn, James Franco, Diego Luna are the perfect combination, there could not have been a more complete cast with each bringing their special and very unique skills to complement and make this movie all the more enjoying and thorough. The rest of the cast was surprising, to see Mr.Gabreel there to see them all united in this great film is just wonderful. It was nice to see so much talent brought together to make this movie possible, some you wouldn't have even thought capable of such. I highly recommend this film,whether yo are gay or straight. DO NOT MISS IT . you will not regret it, this film is worth every minute of it.
