The Breakfast Club (1985,  R)
The Breakfast Club
Like every other movie written by Jon Hughes this movie is a total fantasy, nothing like this would ever happen in real life.
None the less I think this movie is happening, despite the impossibility of this story it makes me feel all happy inside.
The Breakfast Club shows a world there are no barriers between people. It shows a world where the homecoming queen and the criminal can date, and the jock and the geek can be friends. Although I doubt this world could ever actually exist, it would be pretty awesome if it could.

Brick (2006,  R)
Brick
This movie seemlessly adapts the film noir genre into a modern high school setting. Although the diction in the movie is that of the 1940's and not of the present, it seems to work in the context of the movie.
There are a lot of refrences to other film noirs which I liked but ya know whatever.

The Chumscrubber (2005,  R)
The Chumscrubber
This movie is pretty amazing. It paints a chilling portrait of suburban life, and despite how we might try to convince others differently none of our lives are perfect.
The TV Show 'the Chumscrubber' within the movie is obviously a metaphor for the lives of the characters, this might seem sort of cheesy at times, but overall I think it's a pretty well used device.

The Departed (2006,  R)
The Departed
I loved this movie, I think it's one of the best movies i've seen in a really long time. I guess the Academy agreed with me, because it won the award for best picture. This was perhaps Leonardo Dicaprio's best performance to date, if you don't think he's a good actor then you should see this movie, if you still don't think so, well then screw you.
5
Donnie Darko (2001,  R)
6
Fight Club (1999,  R)
