This one was probably my favourite of the three, which I know is blasphemous to all the ROTK fans. It set the story in motion, everyone was together (which was kinda nice) it had lothlorien, which is my favourite city in the LOTR universe and the acting is fantastic. These films mix action, plot and drama into the best set of movies ever made. They all should have won 11 oscars :P

Hero
(2002, PG-13)
Yimou Zhang has created a vibrant masterpiece of Hong Kong style action. The story, acting, and fight sequences are phenomenal. Jet Li and Maggie Cheung lead wonderful roles and the movie throws curveball after curveball up to it's surprise ending.

I should probably critique this international film in an international way. The only problem is that I only speak three languages, and the film has 5. (Yes, you win Alejandro!). In any case, the film is magnificent, extremely provoking, beautiful, incredibly well done and above all one of my favourites. I heard that a lot of people had problems with the way that Alejandro González Iñárritu described the story. Frankly they?re not very smart. I didn?t have a single problem understanding and the way the the stories fused together was an inspiration
Kikuchi-chan wa subarashii desu yo! Nihon no haiyuu wa honto sugoi desu. E no Baberu wa odorokubeki desu. Honto omoshiroii desu to boku wa honto kanmei desu.
Rinko Kikuchi was amazing! All of the Japanese actors were truly awesome. Babel is very surprising. Interesting and I am very impressed!
And finally to the English, because unfortunately I don?t speak Spanish or Arabic. My apologies regarding the very limited Japanese, but my Japanese is very limited. Go figure. Babel is stunning and screams character. It is dark and yet beautiful. Adriana Barraza does a fantastic job, and draws you into the story, no matter how dark and twisted her world happens to be. She is misunderstood, hated and tossed aside, and yet she perseveres and fights on when most won?t. Similarly, Rinko?s fantastic character is a very sad person, and you feel extremely drawn to her, even if her actions are somewhat questionable. She only wants to be loved, have someone care about her, and not think she is a monster. Either of them should have won the best supporting actress Oscar.
The relationships of people and how they meld into a discombobulated and shockingly painful world is an amazing concept that has been executed brilliantly by Iñárritu. I can?t say enough about this. Go rent it, it?s fantastic.

"Sento Chihiro Kamikakushi" (Spirited Away) is a masterpiece of Japanese anime done by master artist Hayao Miyazaki. The animation is so good that you often forget that you're watching a cartoon. A very classic story filled with lots of morals. Beats the Hell out of most Disney movies!

With lines like
"Robin, Pass me the Shark Repellent Spray" which robin then proceeds to magically procure from Batman's utility belt, the movie is so zany that it's hard not to love. Adam West does a fantastic job (not that he doesn't normally) of playing his leotard-clad character and I guarantee you'll laugh your *** off!

With Crazy lines like this:
"There's no I in team, but there is in Pie. Meat Pie. And 'Meat' is the anagram of 'Team'."
what's not to love?
The characters are lovable and the way they interact with their situation is accurate yet over the top. If you're not squeemish you should definitely check it out.

Breathtaking, exciting, Visual Perfection. The cast is perfect, the story is brilliant, the fighting is intense and spectacular. A masterpiece of film.
Also, to all the people who post comments like "They fly, that's so lame" or "Oh My Gawd, Chinese, Blech": LEARN TO APPRECIATE GOOD MOVIES. IT'S CALLED ART!!!

Fantastic, Sci-Fi has not been done this well since the original Star Wars movies. The characters are all compelling and the action and CG are phenominal. The fighting is impeccable and is made that much better because the actors all do their own stunts. Bullet time effects were pretty much started by this movie. Hats off to the Wachowski Brothers for a masterpiece!

I loved this movie. I was a little angry about the fact that they made the elves show up at Helm's Deep (which didn't happen in the book), but even then the movie is superb. It is nice to see something as amazing as these films, especially when the industry is so saturated with crap like Deuce Bigalow and Ultraviolet.

Lindsay Lohan in her best performance ever. This movie is original, delightfully funny and incredibly entertaining. Tina Fey is a genius!

Definitely not for children as it's an extremely gory work of art, to be honest I don't know why. The story of Ashitaka is magnificent and the plot is as gorgeous as the animation. The world in which the movie is set is phenomenal and the action sequences buzz with excitement and wonder.
Oh, and upon re-watching this with my friends I noticed that there are an awful lot of Fundoshii in this movie. Is there something you want to tell us Mr. Miyazaki?

This movie grows on you. At first I thought it was disgusting and over the top but once I got past all the gore I saw extremely well presented fighting sequences. Possibly the best of any American made action movie out there.

Over the top, hilarious and well presented, this action packed comedy is masterfully directed by Stephen chow and brilliantly choreographed by Yuen Wo Ping.

It's Star Wars. If you haven't seen it you've been living in a bubble for far too long and you should run out to your local video store. Those who have heard of it have seen it already and therefore don't really need my opinion, but I'll give it to you anyways. This film started the entire sci-fi genre, it's amazing in almost every way (except for maybe the acting, but that adds to it's charm). People are polarized when it comes to these movies, so you have to make your own decision.

Drunken Boxing is an awesome form of fighting and the movie shares that style with the world. A masterpiece of fight sequences and sheer ability, movies like these are why we fell in love with Jackie Chan.

Vibrant animation set to Majestic classical music, worth watching for the final sequence alone.

Yimou Zhang has done it again, Ziyi Zhang leads a fantastic performance and the entire movie is bathed in rich colours as a sharp contrast to her characters blindness. The fighting is wondrous, the swordplay impeccable, but the film does not sacrifice plot or acting ability for the inclusion of gorgeous action sequences. Like a good movie, the action flows from the magnificent plot. definitely worth checking out (but watch it subtitled, not dubbed).
