Hitman
R
Absolutely brilliant. I'm sure many who haven't played will still enjoy this, but has so many little things which have been nicely integrated from the games. Don't care what other people say, loved it to bits, and Olyphant was perfect for the role (could have done better, but meh).
Knocked Up
R
Found this slightly cheeze and predictable, otherwise good. Has some interesting things to say.
Transformers
PG-13
Yeah, sure it was cheezy, and sure the plot had some pretty substantial holes, but it was still satisfying and didn't do much to taint memories of the original series. They did a few stupid things, but I think I can forgive. An enjoyable watch.
Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (AVP 2)
R
Pretty disappointing in comparison to the first film. Had some good points, but in essence it failed to scare, more to horrify with grizzly scenes of death and dismemberment. Left me thinking it was a cheap teen slasher movie rather than a sci-fi horror.

Mamma Mia!
by JeremyOne of my favourite films of 2008. A spectacularly fun movie experience, that will have you dancing in your seats, when I saw it people actually got up to dance at the end of the film. Meryl Streep, the greatest actress alive, owns this movie an just and has a ball with it. In fact although the plot is corny and unbelievable it doesn't matter as the film never takes it self seriously even for a moment, it just fun and the movie as a result is just so much fun. Whether or not your an ABBA fan or even a musical fan this film will put a smile on your face. It easily will be considered this year's Hairspray.

In Bruges
by SamFinally! The movie I've been waiting to see all year. One that is entirely satisfying. And In Bruges delivers!!!
This movie does not disappoint. There is a perfect amount of humor (and oh yeah it's very dark humor) to undercut the drama and action taking place in this movie. And the story has a good amount of suspense. The music is fantastic, and it gives this movie the feeling and power necessary to completely dazzle! The music makes the movie so much more emotionally resonant. There are great performances from Ralph Fiennes (absolutely perfect antagonist and absolutely hilarious at that), Brendan Gleeson (completely connected with his character), and have to save the best for last...COLIN FARRELL! I am officially a fan now, because up until now I have never been that impressed with any of his work...but...WOW! This guy is actually a damn good actor! He just needs to quit starring in bad movies.
It's just got so much working in its favor. I only wish I could've seen it when it was in theaters. And the ending...oh man...THE ENDING!! Without question my favorite movie of 2008 so far!Yeah I don't usually do much of this movie recommending thing...but this one you should really REALLY check out!
