My Favorite Movies

Simply one of the most amazing films ever made. Hannibal Lecter sears his way into your memory and never leaves. Maybe my all-time favorite.

Probably in my top three. It's one of greatest conceptual films I've ever watched. In a way, it has just about every single genre included...and to say it's deep is an understatement.

It's the modern age's Gone with the Wind. Everyone's seen it so much, that they're sick of it and rightly so. Nevertheless, a really good film, if not great. It will probably stand the test of time. 4 1/2 because it's worn thin w/ overexposure, (still even ten years later!).

Ever since I was a little kid, I've loved dinosaurs. For the little kid in me, this is the ultimate film.

Just a big grand spectacle. What is often missed in big films like this though is the machinations of human emotions. You're so caught up the visuals that you forget about the characters. This film and its actors don't let you do that here.

I love the movie. I love the music. I fell in love with Natalie Portman.

It's amazing that a sequel that far after the first could actually be better.

Johnny Depp is amazing. Feels like a modern, twisted fable.

Maybe his best. Thrillers, for that matter, almost no films are made like this anymore. (The couple of scenes where the man's apartment is in complete darkness and then you see his cigarrete light up is one of the spookiest things I've seen in film.)

The most powerful film I've watched along with United 93. Cinematography and score really stand out.

One of my favs period. I fell in love w/ Kate Winslet watching this.

The best musical ever made and something that will stand every test of time.

One of Speilberg's best. One of my favs as a kid, and still is.

I don't give it the extra half b/c the ending still annoys me a bit. Oscar should've been kind to Hanks for a third time, b/c he gives one of the most commanding and touching performances ever captured on screen.

A great satiric comedy.

I can't help it, it's a guilty pleasure. The fact that it's a satire makes it even better. A good film, not just a good horror movie.

Hitchcock and Grant made a great combo. The climax on Mt. Rushmore has got to be one of the greatest.

When watching films, I like to think I'm above sentimentality or emotion. When the film's ending came though, I was affected in a way I don't think any other film will be able to do.

Best [modern] war movie.

Pure magic. I don't care if it's anime, this is better than most of the animated flicks that make their way on 3,000, 4,000+ screens.

My favortie Coen Brothers so far (maybe until No Country...). A terrifyingly dark comedy with pitch perfect performances from all involved and a screenplay that has not a single error. William H. Macy has never been better.

You can't not like this movie. And yes, a Christmas movie, but certainly one you can watch anytime of the year.

My favorite animated film.

Probably my favorite of all 6. Gets a little lighter here, but still contains elements of the dark and gritty that pervaded the first two.

DiCaprio is better in this film than any other. It physically hurts me to watch this.

A great story of friendship and loyalty. It's what you remember doing with your friends when you were young (not looking for a dead body of course).
