About Me
What to say.....Well I'm a big movie fan. I really admire Johnny Depp and Tim Burton -they're like my heroes- and Pirates of the Caribbean 1 and 2 are my most favourite movies but there are tons more that I love, so many that I couldn't fit them in the movie box hehe. Edward Scissorhands has a special place in my heart. The Wizard of Oz was my very first favourite movie :). After finding out that Fear and Loathing was a film aswell as a book I had to see that and thought it was awesome. Hunter S. Thompson is my all time favourite author. He was such a great writer. Apart from films I enjoy music a lot, like anyone else I guess. I play guitar-or at least I try to:p Love rock! Especially the kinda old stuff-Pirates 3 with Keith Richards was just pure gold!
(I like this quote but couldn't fit it in above so I'm gonna put it here)

"What a ship is, what the Black Pearl really is, is freedom."

and another one

"Rum is the cadillac of spirits." :)

"Wine gums. Envy. Pieces of Rainbow."

"Life is a sexually transmitted disease whose mortality rate is 100%."

Well, there isn't a whole lot I can write about this film. It bored the shit out of me and I fell asleep not long before the end. I'm not exactly what you could call an avid fan of American football. In fact, I fucking hate the sport. It isn't football at all really, it's rugby for pussy's. I realise i'm probably offending most followers right now but i'm going to be honest. I found just about all of the performances forced and dull. A real low point of Al Pacino's career. Even he couldn't carry this film. Cameron Diaz just seemed completely out of place. The concept of Dennis Quaid as a footballer was just laughable. I mean really, what were they thinking. I couldn't stand Jamie Foxx's character, was that the point?, but at least his performance was semi-decent. Oliver Stone has made a fair few decent films in his career, but this was a mess. Even if you are a football fan, or even someone who will understand half of the crap they cover, I can't understand why you would find this film entertaining. If your like me and don't like the sport then it's probably best to avoid whether you're into the actors or not. Come to think of it, why did I watch this?

I was expecting a really terrible romantic comedy that would use every cliche in the book. Luckily it wasn't like that at all. Cute story with pretty decent performances. Piper Perabo and Lena Headey have worked together before so their performances are slightly more comfortable although better has been known to come from Perabo. It's also odd that the most chemistry does not come from these characters, as would be expected, but from Anthony Head and Celia Imrie. The unconventional couple who give the impression of hating each other. It was also these two that were given some of the best dialogue of the film. "We've been together since the fall of Troy", just about floored me. Head's delivery of these lines is just spot on and really makes the film. Overall not a bad film, i'm sure it won't cater to everyones taste but you'll have to decide that for yourself.

a enjoyable hollywood retelling of robin hood, the famous english outlaw, costner portrays him as a hollywood star only could, and even though his american acent stasnds out a mile, he just about gets away with it, thanks to the film being a enjoyable romp, in no small way is alan rickman as sheriff of nottingham out to capture the hood, in a brilliant over the top performance, with classic lines like, AND CALL OF CHRISTMAS. he is a pantomine villain of the highest callibre, some great support throughout also, christian slater, trying his best, and morgan freeman, doing his usuall wise man role, and the lovely mary elizebeth mastrantonio rounding things off as maid marian, oh and a great cameo right at the end. some exellent set pieces throughout, great locations shot in the u.k, showing off some great history. watch it and be entertained and dont grumble if your english, and hollywood has raped your history, this wasent the first and certainly wasent the last, hello braveheart.

A stunning film that is one of many from Akira Kurosawa. His films are always made with a high standard right across the board. The direction doesn't get any better. The casting is perfect. The acting is quality by all the actors involved. And the plot. The plot is one that has been used a million times by other directors. I think when that happens it shows the impact the original film had on all other moviemakers. This really is a must see film, don't be put off by the fact it's in black and white. Don't watch a dubbed version. All of these things just adds to the intensity of the film itself. Excellent movie that will still be being watched in hundreds of years with people still saying this is how the masters do it.

Courtroom dramas can either be really good or really bad. This one surprised me massively. I love Matt Damon, and it isn't often he makes a bad film. His performance in this was very strong and he really was the star of the whole thing. Danny DeVito was a great addition to the cast, throwing in a few laughs as well. Claire's Dane's performance was really good and her additional plotline, although somewhat pointless, managed to entertain. Good direction from Francis Ford Coppola, although not exactly his best work. Still, it was a very good film that is well worth checking out.

Easy film to get into and enjoy. Brainless, stupid and beyond the capabilities of the cars used, but fun and easy going. I'm a bit of a petrol head myself so it was kind of annoying some of the things the showed the cars doing as it was just completely impossible. I don't really like cars with all the crap added onto them either. I prefer straight up European sports cars. The only car in the whole film that was impressive was the 1970 Dodge Charger. The performances of the film were typical of this genre. Fun and in your face but with no real substance, much like the film itself. Worth checking once if your into the genre but not for you if your not.

Not a bad film but not exactly action packed and edge of your seat thrilling. It started off well with a decent plot, but when it really should have taken off, it stalled. Got boring towards the end but with just enough crap going on to make you keep watching. Tommy Lee Jones wasn't bad but the cover said his best performances since The Fugitive, and well, it was far from that. Ashley Judd always delivers as well. I suppose it was the cast that made this such a disappointment. When you hear their names you think of quality, and well, this just didn't live up to that. It had a lot of potential but didn't carry it through the whole of the film. Still, it was worth watching at least once, but don't be surprised if you are disappointed by it.

When I started watching this a few nights ago I was under the impression that i'd never seen it before. Turned out I had, probably back when it was first released. I remembered just how much I loved it back then, and now I know why. The whole film is just excellent. The performances all brilliant. I love Patrick Fugit, and I feel he really was a perfect choice for the character. Even after this film he's managed to stay under the radar, only being in a few indie films since this came out. He's a terrific actor and one to watch in the future. I've never really watched a whole lot of Kate Hudson's films and the ones I have seen have been stupid that don't show her off to what she is capable of. This film however, shows her in her true light. She is a very capable actress and hopefully we'll be able to see her in more roles like this one. I liked Jason Lee as one of the rock stars as well. He played the part very well and lit up the screen with some really brilliant acting. The plot is excellent and probably every music kid's dream (I.e. Me). Who wouldn't want to write for Rolling Stone at the age of 15 and tour with a band. If your into music then this film is for you. If your into fun films then this film is for you. I highly recommend this film.

A real kick ass movie, that too many people are putting down. Yes, it's brainless and about as deep as a puddle but if that is not what you are looking for then don't want films that are many solely for that purpose. I love the Matrix-esk look of the film. Some of those bullet shots were just stunning. Both Anjelina Jolie and James McAvoy were both really great. Two really strong performances. Morgan Freeman made a really great addition to the cast as well. If your after a film that you don't have to think about but just enjoy then this would be a good choice. The plot was great and I loved that the ending wasn't exactly Hollywood friendly. It didn't shy away from things that might annoy audience members which was brave. A sequel would be interesting, although I don't think it would be quite as good. One to check out when you're in the mood for a real action film.

3 english girls meet 4 english lads in spain and are taken for a great time on a yaught, but things turn for the worse when one of the girls is killed during a sex act, by one of the guys, a so called donkey punch, now with the girls stuck there with the guys what could go down is any bodys business, will sides be taken, a nice little thriller, putting abunch of people on a boat and watch the results when a little murder is thrown in the mix, sides are imediatly drawn, due to the friendships, and fear strikes in, as to what is the best thing to do, with the body and aftermath, things get very paranoid to say the least, a good set up here, all charactors are well covered, the girls showing range in sexuality and eventual distress, while the lads showing a edge but simpathy, all great performances as well, and considering the location, the story and circumstances come off well, some nice deaths also,

I'm not usually into musicals but I actually enjoyed this film. Fun but with something serious to say at the same time. Hard to pull of in a lot of respects but Rent pulled it off nicely. The score wasn't bad at all either. The set up of the music and lyrics was a bit like they really were making it up as they went along as chorus and consistence in the lyrics didn't really exist. The performances were all excellent with some really lovable characters. Adam Pascal did a really brilliant job and his voice is amazing. You can just tell that Wilson Jermaine Heredia was made for his character as well. He was just born to play Angel. The rest of the cast did a really great job. I would recommend this film even if you're not usually into musicals. This one has a very urban and fresh feel to it that a lot of other musicals don't have.

Hmmm..not sure if I liked it or not. Extremely hard to understand what most of the characters are saying. Heavy english accents. Brad's character is the hardest to understand.
Strange story..it was ok I guess. The only reason I was interested in this one is because Jason Statham portrays a character. There are a lot of familiar faces in this film. Be prepared to listen hard to anything that is said..they all have heavy accents! Brad's character is just impossible to understand!! But he is quite comical I must say.

I really didn't think I would enjoy this film at all. I only watched it because a copy was sitting there and there was nothing else on. I was completely wrong. I was expecting a slightly deeper than normal chick flick type movie. It really wasn't like that at all. Although I can understand why it could come under chick flick, there was a whole lot more depth to the story and the characters. Two brilliant performances from Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis, complete with chemistry really brought the film alive. The two characters are just so convincing. Sarandon and Davis made the characters lovable. Although i'm sure other actresses could have pulled it off, these two did so with a lot of skill that i've rarely seen in either of them. The Oscar nominations were both completely deserved. A lot of other people mentioned who they thought gave the better performance but I can't. They were both outstanding and in two very different ways. Impossible to choose between either of them. Engaging plot that kept me interested right up until the end, with that classic scene of them driving off the grand canyon. I'm sure even if you've not seen this film, you've seen that scene before. Don't underestimate this film, it's worth checking out.
