Star Trek - PG-13 Wow!!! First of all I have to come clean to the entire universe, I am a closet trekkie. That being said, I don't understand why some of my fellow trekkies are so appalled and worked-up over this film! How incredibly annoying to read these cry-baby reviews about complaints, whining, "Boo-hoo, J.J. Abrams ruined my precious Star Trek universe!"... STFU already! Anyway, I digress. I LOVED this movie! I get so excited just thinking about it! It was happy, sad, angry, romantic, hilarious, and just plain entertaining! It was perfect in my opinion! Well, almost... I have one tiny problem with this film... 5 minutes of Winona Ryder?! Seriously, that's all we get!? I remember being so thrilled to find out she was in this and she was half the reason I braved the annoying opening weekend crowd to see this. But honestly, I don't really care! I still loved it. The other half of a reason I went to see this, the sexy cast! I'm sorry, but sex truly does sell! Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, John Cho, Zoe Saldana, Winona Ryder! Hot Hot Hot! Haha! Back to the film... the acting was excellent, storyline was great, awesome special effects and action, I love you Leonard Nimoy! The man is beyond endearingly watchable! Besides the lack of Winona Ryder (which when I really think about it, it wasn't that big of a deal), I have not one complaint! Love, Love Loved this film! I highly reccomend it to everyone! If you don't like it, then move the f*ck on already! Haha! Live Long & Prosper... June 10, 2009

Bride Wars - PG I was expecting something really awful with a film about dueling bridezillas, but that wasn't the case at all. It wasn't Citizen Kane, but it was all quite entertaining! Incredibly predictable, cheezy, and at times very typical. But, I liked it! There I said it! I laughed a lot, got a tad misty eyed, and let out a satisfied sigh or two. All in all, it wasn't bad and was quite funny. I've been trying not to take films so seriously lately with the over-analyzing harsh criticisms and will just try to let loose and enjoy myself. If you feel the same, check this one out. If you don't like it, then move on! June 10, 2009

The Mist - R Wow. Ok, where do I begin with this. Alright, I thought this "monster movie" was just... amazing. Mysterious deadly creature filled mist comes rolling in, suddenly people are trapped like rats in a grocery store. Many antagonists roaming about and throughout. Monsters and Marcia Gay Harden... Wow, Bravo! I love when actors portray their character so well that you forget you're watching a performance and want to kill them. She played "bad christian" a bit too well. The story and acting were good enough to overshadow the not-so-special effects (a small step above sci-fi tv movie of the week quality). It kept me on the edge of my seat, with some great scares here and there. This film shows the audience how an incredibly unfortunate situation will bring out the absolute worst in the majority of humanity and I had much appreciation for that! It makes you stop and think, Which is worse, the monsters outside or in? I would honestly rather be eaten by a giant spider than deal with that religious nut-job and her evil minions. But, I digress. The unconventional ending is something you've probably never seen before in a film and probably rarely will ever again, sadly. I thought it was a perfect ending to this particular film and would never change it were I given the chance to. I highly recommend this film to anyone. If you don't like it, then move on! Swept Away - R Opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one, and my asshole would just like to say, "I absolutely adored Swept Away!". There was just something about it I fell for, which I can't place. I guess it just all worked for me. I feel Madonna did her best and it really shows. I've seen many of the absolute worst performances in countless horrible films, but Madonna as Amber is not one of them. Don't listen to overrated critics who shit on this film before it was even made, try watching it for yourself and develop your own opinion. If you don't like it, move on. March 11, 2009
