Hee hee hee heeeee....oh it makes me chuckle. I didn't even get half way through it. Hugh's mullet, the damsel in distress - LOL!! It's so cheesy Velveeta would have some major competition. Oh my......still laughing.
Update: This movie has such heart. The relationship between daughter and estranged father - very touching and honest. The whole cast was wonderful to watch. Obviously Anna Paquin has continued to be a great talent.
Well there were some cute parts and some touching moments. It's so funny that Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney play a married couple in two very different movies although this one was far beneath their abilities. I did like watching Laura's comedic side along with her more serious side. She's so talented. Chris Evans was cute of course.
What a wonderful, inspiring story. I absolutely loved watching the relationship between Mrs. Touhy and Michael and both Sandra Bullock and Quinton Aaron did a fabulous job. Loved Kathy Bates and Tim McGraw as well. This is an awesome feel good movie.
Even though I know it was cheesy, it still scared me. Update: It's all in your mind, where you are and what you're doing at the time you're watching it that causes the effects.
I love Colin Firth!! And I don't care what anyone says...Renee looks good with some meat on her bones! Update: Now that I think about it, some of it is irritating. Funny how I've changed my opinion over time.
I'm a woman but I have to say it: Aishwarya Rai is freaking gorgeous! I can appreciate physical beauty in the same sex. That being said I like her acting but I do feel she can do more. She's capable of stretching her talent. The story itself was sweet and mysterious. I liked it.
There were parts that I did have to fast forward through but since the ending was so nice I feel I have to give it three stars. When Marco and Divina finally got to meet on the date they were destined to it was very touching and bittersweet. I think the actors did a fine job. Their performances were emotional and beautiful but not over the top. They did it just right and it was lovely.
It amazes me how much power and influence people can have in other lives. We're not talking people in powerful positions but every day individuals. Even the most subtle word, opinion or action can change the whole direction of a person's existence. People usually do not think of this and the ones who do often make the choice to use that power in a negative way. Jane Austen did not realize how much she influenced her niece and the outcome was portrayed negatively however do we really know whether or not Fanny's life turned out worse? As to her regrets, I do believe she had some as many people do but she was ultimately happy with what her life had been. Or at least it seemed that way.
Once again Hollywood (old Hollywood in this case) enjoys crushing my romantic tendencies for a truly happy ending. Give me the cliche, at least in romantic dramas. Give me the kiss, give me the 'falling in love' moments. Sigh. Other than that disappointment it was rather good. I had never seen Robert Mitchum and I might have to become a fan. I don't agree with the majority of opinions that the performances were "amazing." I would say they were gratifying and captivating in some moments.
Absolutely wonderful. Touching. Update: Still nice to watch over and over which in my opinion makes it a classic. A young classic. Have to say I love the design of Evangeline's wedding dress at the end. Gorgeous with sleeves and all (instead of the strapless or tiny sleeved dresses pushed on us.) Getting off the subject.....
A good story made better by the relationship between Charlie and Kanaalag. It's hard to tell but it seemed to be more of a brother/sister relationship. Barry Pepper is a good actor. There were some parts I didn't like but overall it was good. Annabella was very interesting to watch and she did a nice job also. I was so surprised to see Michael Buble in this!
Touching moments. Some predictable moments as well. I liked seeing the relationships that developed between Vanessa and Bill's mother and daughter. That was very sweet as was Sarah Bolger.
