Sunshine - R Did not enjoy this movie. HORRIBLE film. Encompassed many of my fears. The effects and acting is good, and the idea is clever, but the stupid burned man monster just ruins it a bit. Doesn't need that kind of thing, was scary enough without it. July 22, 2007

Alien - R Pretty good - in my opinion the effects stand the test of time. It was just a little bit too slow at times for my liking. June 19, 2007

The Rachel Papers - R Pretty good - shows the problems with a relationship after you eventually get what you want only to discover that actually that person isn't as perfect as they once seemed. No relationship is perfect and no person is ever exactly what you want. That's life and this shows it quite well. Plus there's lots of nakedness and sex. June 19, 2007

Night at the Museum - PG Light and fun, ots of comedy moments and great if you just want something to chill out to and have a giggle. June 19, 2007

Vacancy - R Was predictable and cliched, but still scared the wiggins out of me and made me jump a lot. Good fun and suitably scary for it's genre. But if you like things more deep and meaningful then don't go there. June 19, 2007

Cidade de Deus, (City of God) - R Very powerful, well acted and well directed. An intense storyline with a powerful message. But not for everyone as strong violence and aggression as well as distressing scenes involving drugs, childen and pain. Based on a true story so pretty amazing. Makes me glad to live where I do!! What Women Want - PG-13 "Monsieur! I need to poop!" Very funny french poodle moment. I like this film but they could probably have done a bit more with it. Did enjoy it though, was well acted and fun! May 22, 2007

Scarface - R Excellently acted and very good story showing how wealth and excess will be any man's downfall. However, difficult to watch in many places and indeed, gave me nightmares. May 15, 2007

The Karate Kid - PG Much fun. Eighties cheese. Predictable but worth it. May 15, 2007

The Long Kiss Goodnight - R Quite good - exciting and interesting. Very well acted with humour as well as the violence and sexyness. May 13, 2007

Joy Ride (Road Kill) - R Your typical road-trip horror movie, but very enjoyable with some entertaining bits. May 12, 2007

Summer of Sam - R Very good movie. Very cool, lots of sex and violence. The beginning of punk and the social unnacceptability of it, with prejudice leading to acts of violence to prevent violence. An excellent social commentary as well as a gore-fest. May 12, 2007

Three to Tango - PG-13 I really do enjoy this movie - it's so lovely. Chandler's just being Chandler, but it's well worth it. Neve Campbell is charming and funny and lovely and the chemistry is great. Funny and romantic and lovely. May 9, 2007

Die Hard With a Vengeance (Die Hard 3) - R My favourite of the Die Hards... well, it may be replaced by Die Hard 4.0 but until then, this is the best one. Love it. May 8, 2007

Memento - R Watched this again tonight at the cinema, and remembered just how good it is. Knowing how it worked with the past going forward against the present going back, meant I could start understanding it immediately rather than taking that time of confusion to try and figure it out. Stunning film, so clever, highly recommended. May 7, 2007

The Holiday - PG-13 Really loved this movie - Jude Law usually pisses me off but he wasn't too bad in this, and I love Jack Black. Lovely romantic comedy. Not for everyone of course, but for girls it's probably lovely. May 7, 2007

Indecent Proposal - R Very good, thought provoking film. Extremely well acted and makes you question yourself and the characters a lot. Robert Redford and Woody Harrelson are both sexy and attractive in different ways... well worth a watch. May 5, 2007

Jerry Maguire - R SHOW. ME. THE MONEY! May 5, 2007

Contact - PG Pretty good, I liked it. Very clever. Jodie Foster acted it well and it had some interesting concepts. I thought her Dad being the alien was a little bit lame though - could have had something a bit less American-sappy. May 4, 2007

Straightheads (Closure) - R Scared me. Well acted with a powerful plot, though not necassarily the best plot, and worth viewing if you're strong enough of mind to cope with it. Scary stuff. The final scene where she gets her vengeance is quite traumatizing in a way. May 3, 2007

Hannibal - R Mutant man eating pigs? Well.. there's a first time for everything. Not nearly as good as Red Dragon or Silence of the Lambs which I am a big fan of. It's a shame Julianne Moore was brough in as Clarice, she does a good job though to her credit. It's just not the same. The bit where he feeds Ray Liotta his own brain is disturbing. YUCK.
