Where the Wild Things Are
PG
This film was not as good as I expected. The story was kind of, well... there wasn't really a plot. It was just a bunch of scenes. However, the cinematography is spectacular, and the characters are lovable. I like how this film is very different than most films, and also that there analogies everywhere throughout the film. I don't think the filmmakers really know who their target audience is. The movie is too mature for kids, yet I don't think it's really for adults either... It's confusing. I wouldn't recommend paying to see this; maybe when it's free on On Demand.
Citizen Kane

I have always wanted to see this movie for as long as I can remember, because it's critically acclaimed and AFI's (American Film Institute) has declared it the best movie ever. Well, now I have seen it, and it is indeed a brilliant, intelligent, and moving motion picture. Orson Welles is unquestionably a role model to me. He directed, co-wrote, and stared in this film at the fairly young age of 25!
One of the exquisite aspects of "Citizen Kane' that was pretty profound at the time is the revolutionizing cinematography. I seemed new and refreshing then and, in my opinion, even now.
However, it's the story of Charles Foster Kane's life that makes this film considered one of the bests. The movie starts out with him saying "Rosebud" and then dying, and it's creative how the movie turns into a sort of biographical documentary on why this was his last word. Everything is top-notch. The acting is realistic and everybody does a wonderful job. The sets are gorgeous. Also, the make-up used to make the actors look like their aging is remarkable.
However, there is one tiny problem I have with this movie. How did they know his last words were "rosebud"? He practically whispered it and nobody was around... am I missing something?
Anyways, I don't know if I can say this is the best movie ever, but this is most definitely a film you should see in your lifetime. And once you see it, you want to see it all over again. :)

It was a little different from the book, but not in a bad way. This movie is probably the best book adaptation I have ever seen. It makes you fall in love with the characters even more!!

This movie was brilliant!!! It was full of emotion, and it depicks how tragic war was very well. I loved how they showed different sides of the story and you felt sorry for Briony in the end. All the actors did a great job, and the director, joe wright, has a superb vision of the book, which I suspect is brilliant also.
