Vampires meets "The Crying Game" ... I finally got to see this movie after many attempts. The movie fails to be straight forward even though it reveals a lot. It comes off as simple story of two kids in which one may be a vampire, but there are layers of significance and dilemma that don't show up on the surface. Amazing cinematography and directing. I love that they didn't rely on cheap scare tactics or large amounts of gore, there was a lot of silence in the movie. Even the final duel was silent. |

But everyone was stereotypically cast, it felt like they were plucked from their hit movies and automatically cast to play the same role. Except for Sienna Miller, she was miscast, she is no Angelina Jolie. I think she auditioned for a Beyonce video but got cast here. I think this movie needed a Michelle Rodriguez...
