Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire - R A concise portrait of the human condition at its most tragic. The premise, dilemma and outcome are straight forward and do not need logic to understand, you’re only required to feel everything from anger to joy. It is the movie’s authentic triumph… “for all the precious girls everywhere” November 22, 2009

2012 - PG-13 I was conned into watching the waves of "A Perfect Storm," volcano ash of "Dante's Peak," the city annihilations of "Independence Day," some of the plot and theoretics of "Day after Tomorrow," sappy emotions of "Deep Impact," everything that was bad about "Armageddon" and they even threw in a ship a la "Poseidon." Everything mashed up into 2:40 too long. Woody Harrelson was the best part of the movie, him and his pickles. November 18, 2009

The Box - PG-13 It goes from being bizarre to more bizarre, but nothing close to a David Lynch film. It embodies more of the Twilight Zone. The setting, the atmosphere, the mood, the music, (wow the wallpaper) were all perfectly devised. November 14, 2009

The Men Who Stare at Goats - R Quirky, oddball of a movie that becomes nothing great, but has lots of laughs. November 10, 2009

Capitalism: A Love Story - R its very interesting to watch a Michael Moore documentary. This one was identical to his other films. What differentiates this from what you already know are the odd tidbits he brings up to prove his point. Who would of known... October 28, 2009

Drag Me to Hell - PG-13 I keep hearing people say this is the "best" horror film, hmmm I don't know. I think I saw more people scared at the bunch of nothing in "Paranormal Activity." I personally think this was great dark comedy that is a lot more fun than scary. October 13, 2009

Paranormal Activity - R In the age of YouTube, Twitter, Facebook... there is that intrigue of how entertaining or popular you can make your life to others. This follows that premise Blair Witch Style. Even after all this time that style seems to attract an audience with movies like "District 9" and "Quarantine"/"Rec." What this movie fails to do is to show anything more than what you would of normally seen in a ghost hunter special on TV... but there is something to be said about how horrific silence can be and the anticipation that something is going to happen. Pandorum - R maybe if I hadn't seen movies like '28 days later,' 'the descent,' 'aliens,' 'solaris' or even 'star trek' I would of thought this was a really great movie. But it just took the best of everything else and made a just a good movie. October 8, 2009

9 - PG-13 Visually engaging... the movie was corrupted by the filmmakers persistent action scenes that diluted the movie's story and drew out what was once a short film into a mere 80 minutes. September 25, 2009

Lt den Rtte Komma In (Let the Right One in) - R Vampires meets "The Crying Game" ... I finally got to see this movie after many attempts.

The movie fails to be straight forward even though it reveals a lot. It comes off as simple story of two kids in which one may be a vampire, but there are layers of significance and dilemma that don't show up on the surface. Amazing cinematography and directing. I love that they didn't rely on cheap scare tactics or large amounts of gore, there was a lot of silence in the movie. Even the final duel was silent.
