Shyamalan tries too hard to get some mystery and suspense in his films. I haven't seen one movie of his that I've liked since 'Sixth Sense' and 'Signs.' Those were probably his better efforts. This one was way too morbid to actually feel any horror or mystery from it.
Has strayed from the simple whimsical to the cinematic grandeur. Perfect in every way. Stimulates you in thought, imagination and emotion, but doesnt reach the excessive amusement some prior pics have.
Who talks in monotonous sarcastic statements? Well everyone in this movie of course. Great thing its catchy and funny. The lighter version of all those "Knocked Up" type comedies. Ellen Page is awesome.
A lot of this movie didn't work due to the fact the subject matter has been done before (and better) which made it hard to feel the characters. At times it felt ambiguous.
