The Shawshank Redemption

Absolutely Flawless. Mmm, I watched this again last night. I don't know how many times I've seen it, but every time - EVERY time Andy stands in the rain at the end I get chills. Its such a ride, this movie. It takes you from high to low and back again so smoothly and yet harshly I'll never get sick of it. You don't remember exactly how you feel about a certain scene until you watch it again, and then all you can remember is that you were impacted. Robbins is the perfect unassuming, quiet genius. Without a believable Andy Dufrane, the movie falls apart, but you DO feel for him. You get angry for him, and you feel triumphant with him. Morgan? Are there words? Watching it, all I can say is, "He's just so...flawless." I've rarely seen acting to match his in this movie. Red comes alive; he becomes a real person who lived and breathed, and he narrates this story so perfectly from his point of view - every time I'm in awe of it. (I hold to the fact that Morgan Freeman is one of the only actors in Hollywood who can pull off a good narration.) His descriptions of the situations (a credit to screen writing themselves) make this movie come to life. This review is now quite long enough. I just felt after watching it again I couldn't let my review stand at only two words.
