Wow!! This is now my all-time favorite movie. I have seen most of the big movies this summer, which really has been a great summer. But 'The Dark Knight' has been the film that I have most anticipated, really ever since it was announced and the first info started showing up. I bought my midnight IMAX tickets about a month ahead of time and it was a good thing I did because they were sold out pretty soon afterwards. At 12:05am I witnessed one of the greatest comic-book based films ever, quite possibly the greatest. I need to see it again before I can say that.
The film starts shocking and explosive and doesn't stop until the credits begin to roll. The cast is perfect all around. The story is amazing, very intense and disturbing at times but amazing. The images shown on screen accompanied by the terrific musical score created a constant spine-tingling sensation in me that lasted the entire film. By the way, the soundtrack is truly worth owning in its own right.
Bale is again great as Batman, Eckhart is great as D.A. Harvey (Two-Face) Dent, and as I said before the rest of the cast are also great. I was constantly looking for signs of Heath Ledger in his portrayal of The Joker, but he wasn't there. He was so into his character that it's the one of most complete characters I've ever seen, and becomes one of the greatest movie villains ever.
If I could give this film a higher rating than 5 stars I would. This is not only a great sequel to the also great 'Batman Begins'. It is truly a great film by itself. I could see this over and over again.

This is one of the best comic adaptations yet. This should easily get $100 million plus opening. It has just about everything. Great acting, great story, lots of action and humor. The story does a great job of introducing the character of Tony Stark/ Iron Man for those of us who aren't quite familiar with this superhero as we are of Spiderman, Batman and Superman. I think I watched the old cartoon of Iron Man in the mid 90's but really didn't know much of the character. Now after seeing this movie I wonder why I was unaware of how cool Iron Man was.
Robert Downey Jr. really does a great job as the genius billionaire and 'IS' Tony Stark. I can't envision anyone else as this guy now. The technology this guy has at his disposal aside from his Iron Man suit is amazing. There is so much going on in this film visually that I am definitely going to have to see this again soon. Some of the best lines in the film are from Downey talking to his robot assistants, especially the one when he threatens one of the robots that he is going to donate it to a community college.
There is no doubt in my mind that this has sequel written all over it and I look forward to continuing in the world of Iron Man. There is a lot of potential for the series. The first must see blockbuster of the summer that includes previews of two upcoming blockbusters in Indiana Jones and The Dark Knight (the Batman sequel). Both of which look awesome!!!!! GO SEE!!!!!

I had been anticipating this movie for awhile. 'Wall-E' was stunning. Another masterpiece from Disney and PIXAR. The animation is amazing and that was enough for me, but I got a great story as well that should make a lot of people look at how we live our lives and what we could become. Amazing visually.
You will be amazed at how the people at PIXAR can convey so much emotion in a little CGI robot with very little dialog. Much less hundreds of other robots. This is reachable by children and adults. I haven't heard so many people laughing equally at the same jokes.
This is now one of my favs. I think there is something for everyone to enjoy in this film.

Across The Universe was one of the best movies I have seen this year. A visual masterpiece. All of the classic Beatles songs worked perfectly in this movie. I really liked the way all of the songs were remade. I recently bought the soundtrack which although good, I was disappointed after seeing that the CD was missing some of the great songs in the movie. The inclusion of the songs "REVOLUTION","WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS", and "ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE" which are in the movie would have made the CD a lot better. Beautiful movie.

Juno
(2007, PG-13)
Juno was funny, smart, and at times sad. Ellen Page delivers absolutely wonderful acting as Juno, a 16yr old girl who gets pregnant and ultimately decides that she will give the baby up to a young couple played by 'Bateman' and 'Garner' once the child is born. In her naive innocence realizes that love and life aren't the way she pictured it. Michael Cera, who has been fun to watch since Arrested Development, continues his great acting roles in Juno, where he plays an uncomfortable, sweet, and funny teen that gets his friend Juno pregnant.
Clever little story about life and teen pregnancy with an ending that is both sad and uplifting, and no the baby doesn't die.
GO SEE!!

This movie is a great showcase for the talent that is Jack Nicholson. Wonderful story with a sad but great ending. Many other great actors including Christopher Lloyd, and Danny DeVito.

Probably the most intense movie I have seen in a long time. Javier Bardem is absolutely terrifying. The compressed air weapon he uses is the craziest thing I have never thought of. Great acting by the entire cast really makes you feel for the story.
GO SEE THIS IF YOU CAN!!!!

Second Review: I have seen Sweeny Todd a second time and I am glad to say it has become an instant favorite. Having bought the soundtrack recently, the songs have become pretty addictive. I am finding myself humming or singing them all the time. Ha Ha! I am further impressed with the singing talent of all the actors, but still the young actor who plays Toby, is by far the "MOST" talented.
I think this should be seen by everyone and not just musical fans.
First Review: I had the unfortunate fact of seeing this movie while having a bad cold, preventing me from really focusing on the movie. I really enjoyed seeing the likes of Sacha Baron Cohen a.k.a Borat, who succumbs to a pretty grisly death. Alan Rickman and the ugly fat guy who plays Peter Pettigrew in the Harry Potter movies were hilarious to see singing and also succumbing to very bloody deaths.
The songs were pretty great with very clever words. The singing was just as good surprisingly enough, didn't know 'Depp' had it in him. It took me awhile to get used to the fact that when not singing 'Depp' sounded like Jack Sparrow from the Pirates movies, most of the time. The young boy that Sweeney and Mrs. Lovett take in was the best singer and has a terrific song towards the end of the movie. Sacha Baron Cohen when singing to me sounded like Adam Sandler's 'Opera Man' routine on Saturday Night Live, made me laugh a lot.
Overall the film was very fun to watch, with an ending pretty un-expectable. I'll probably have to see it again sometime so that I can really understand what is being said and sung.

A lot like Sin City in the look, and feels very much like a comic book in motion. Excellent fight scenes.

In light of the recent DVD release of Superbad. I felt a new review was in order. Superbad is one of the funniest movies this year if not the funniest in my opinion. I thought that the humor in this movie was very original, and not the same recycled jokes most comedies these days have. The dialog is very crude and not suitable for children, but is gut-busting hilarious. The DVD does extend many funny scenes and only makes them even better. Great acting from the entire cast only gives more realism to the movie.
Bonus features a-plenty including a pretty funny "mockumentary" in which many of the cast and crew reveal hatred towards cast member Michael Cera, who is completely oblivious to the hate aimed at him. Some hilarious bloopers, a weird fake porn video that is funny because of how 'weird' it is and a lot more. If you haven't seen this movie yet, I recommend that you check it out.

Great Sci-fi. Exciting and Thrilling story + beautiful visuals = 4.5 stars. You will leave with questions no doubt, but I feel that the best sci-fi films always leave you asking questions. Although having our sun dying fifty years from now is a little out there.

This was a very fun movie to watch. Excuse me "Movie's". Planet Terror was the better of the two in my opinion. The hysterically bad violence was great. Blood spraying on the screen. Also the missing reel right in the middle of the sex scene, ?PERFECT!?. The crowds reaction was classic. A collective moan. LOL! The fake previews were a great touch.
Death Proof felt a little too long and drawn out. Don?t get me wrong, the end result was great. But halfway through Death Proof I really felt like I was sitting through a 3+ hour movie and it was getting tiring. But the stunt girls getting their revenge at the end on Kurt Russell was a great moment. Everyone in the theatre was cheering when he was getting his ass kicked.
Wish more people would have given it a chance though. I think it would do well as a 12am show on weekends like Rocky Horror Picture Show does.
