The People Vs. Larry Flynt (1996,  R)
The People Vs. Larry Flynt 4.5 Stars
Absolutely brilliant all round, I have only one issue with the film, it should have been slightly longer, about 30 minutes, include his presidential race, his 3 marriages before Courtney Love's character and his 3 or 4 kids but besides that, it's hilarious insight to a smut peddler but yet enduring important man and him showing up the US Government as the anti-free speech politicians they really are. Woody Harrelson just becomes Larry Flynt in the second half of the film and probably deserved the oscar that year, only Billy Bob Thornton may have top him in that year for "Sling Blade" who also didn't win and Ed Norton and Courtney Love deserved oscar nods but Richard Paul as Reverend Jerry Falwell should have won it no question, he looks and talks exactly like him.
