Green Zone movie poster Green Zone R
A solid Greengrass thriller shot steadycam style throwing a Bourne-like character into the Iraqi occupation searching for WMD's and the whole truth to the situation as to why the USA is there in the first place. All-star cast and keeps you on the edge of the seat, that being said doesn't quite offer anything new to this line of film and I think that the market is starting to be oversaturated with Iraqi war based fiction works. Damon though is very solid and is really becoming a solid action star.
Alice in Wonderland movie poster Alice in Wonderland PG
As you'd expect for a Tim Burton the visuals for this story whether they'd be practical, CGI or otherwise were completely astounishing, his sensiblities were defintely at play in the Wonderland of Lewis Carrol. Casting was very solid all around from his regular staple of actors Depp and Carter to newcomer Mia Wasikowska. The main fault if anything is the someone below average storyline line which can be excused since for the most part you go for the experience in this case, but also the fact that you never really get a full explanation as to why Alice has forgotten her original visit here other than the off cuff remark that it was just a dream which I have a hard time buying. Just a wonderous escape and worth seeing in 3d not to be overanalyzed.

In terms of action serials this film ranks as the perfect tribute for the golden oldies of the 30's and stands as one of Ford's iconic performances. Perfect action sequences that grab you from the word go, with the temple sequence, and doesn't let go. Perfect villains, tension and fun, a must watch for any movie fan.
Grindhouse (Grind House) movie poster Grindhouse (Grind House) R
Defintely one the best times I had in the theatres back in 2007 and best to be viewed in tandem and with an audience to get the full experience and interaction with the ridiculousness. Planet Terror is pure sci fi B goodness with an A cast, Freddy Rodriguez and Rose McGowan make great albeit unlikely leads her, and just the final set piece with the gun leg is pure joy and hilarity. Death Proof is slightly less so as it takes a while to take off and is almost like Tarintino is creating Resevoir Dogs again with a woman cast. Russell is great as the villain slimey yet weirdly charming, and features the classic lines and killer soundtrack. The car sequneces are something to behold. And if you can find the fake trailers anywhere, especially Don't and Machete, check them out!
