Zombie Strippers
by LupusYou don't have a right to complain if you read the film title. Get over yourself and stop ratin movies bad because you're too damn sophisticated to enjoy well-constructed rubbish! This was 94mins of fake tits (mostly) and fancy G-strings sandwiching semi-brilliant, tongue-in-cheek philosophical discourses. Honest!

The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada
by merlinWhats up with the font here people?
It seems someone gave tommy lee a bunch of rope and said " here Tommy, hang yourself!"
He certianly streched it out a ways, but this is one of the best movies i've seen in quite a while.

The Bucket List
by ~Lissa~If I wasn't on a plane, surrounded by strangers, I would have cried.
It was a good movie made better by Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. They have both played powerful parts in other movies, it's different to see them powerless against their struggle against cancer.
It doesn't really matter that the CGI isn't great because it isn't so much what they are seeing, but what they are learning about life.

Iron Man
by ~Lissa~Great movie! Who needs the Man of Steel when you have Iron Man? Ok ok calm down I'm just saying...
Robert Downey Jr. was perfect for this role. I'm so happy that he found it and hope to see more of him in the future. Keep off the drugs and do more flixs like this Bob!
I have to sadly admit that I walked into the theater 10 minutes late and hope I didn't miss anything. It looked like I did when I saw he was already captured but thankfully it went into the days before that.
I liked how cocky he was even when he was trying to do good. Kinda hard to continue to make weapons of mass destruction when you see they are being used against your own.
I must have missed a lot of trailers because I was surprised when Gwyneth Paltrow showed up as Pepper Potts, which by the way was a great name! And what was up with The Dude?! He get cut off from the White Russians or what? I knew he was evil when I saw that he was bald!
Even though The Incredible Hulk had a lot of nostalgia, I liked this one better because it had more action and was funny. Yeah it didn't have as much heart as the other one, but all the geeky stuff was cool.
I liked his toys and how they made cute noises like they were alive. The one that kept spraying him was funny.
I went into this movie having never read the comic book, hell I didn't even know it was based on one until I saw Stan Lee. I liked the character and I believe you don't need to be a fanboy to enjoy it.
I did stay for the credits and you should too! I have no idea who Samuel L. Jackson's character was, but if he shows up wanting your help, you better jump on board!
Oh and now the whole Tony Stark showing up in The Incredible Hulk makes sense.
Hope you enjoy as much as I did!posted 550 days ago -

The Incredible Hulk
by ~Lissa~I liked it! And I haven't even seen the other one that everybody is comparing it to. I just remember that one from the trailers looked silly.
It was good times watching this movie. Brought a lot of memories back. I wonder if my brother still has his Hulk jammies. Oh and when Lou Ferrigno let him pass with the pizza! Great cameo! I remember when he was at Safeway signing autographs and I was too scared to go up to him with my brothers, but of course they made me and he turned out to be so nice!
I enjoyed the action, it was fun to watch him smash a car to use as a shield. That crazy sound force machine thing, wow! Not strong enough for him though!
When he roared at the thunder and lightning on the cliff, it kinda reminded me of King Kong. The intensity in his eyes when he looked at her, loved it! I love the big green guy!
I was so happy that his blood pressure shot up too high for them to get farther than second base (or is it third base?) cause that would have just ruined it!
So great when he said "HULK SMASH"! Made it all worth it.
Can't finish this without mentioning how well Edward Norton did. I think this movie would not have been as good if it wasn't for him.
The ending was interesting and made me immediately buy a ticket for Iron Man! Well not immediately since we were the only ones who stayed after the credits hoping there was something more.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
by ~Lissa~I liked it! It was goofy and lots of fun to watch Indy do his thing again.
When I was in the restroom washing my hands after the movie I overheard two women talking about it. They were saying how ridiculous it was and unbelievable the things that were put in the movie. This made me smile because those women obviously didn't watch the last one. This also made me like it even more.
The crystal skull looked pretty cool and how could you not think it looked like an alien? The scenery was also lovely and I swear I have seen those falls before.
I think Shia LaBeouf played alongside of Harrison Ford well. This movie reminded me of why I've always liked Harrison Ford.
I haven't seen any bad reviews for this movie. Not sure why it would get some?
This is a must see for all you Indiana Jones fans out there!posted 572 days ago -

Turistas (Paradise Lost)
by ~Lissa~This movie reminds me of why I get anxious every time I travel abroad. Good thing I stick to the agenda and don't travel with a bunch of sex crazed maniacs! It is good to be the only one in the group sometimes.
Anyways, since I just got back from Brazil I enjoyed watching this since I could understand what they were saying. Well actually I only understood Obrigada but hey! That's more than I knew before the movie!
The movie had some suspense as you wait to see what will happen to them as they all start to realize they may never make it back to the States. Waking up drugged on the beach is no way to start the day.
Some scenes were pretty gruesome but those of you that like lots of gore will be disappointed. Overall OK for being a horror movie but since I didn't have trouble sleeping, can't rate it any higher than 3 stars.
Watch this movie if you like to see organs taken out of a naked girl as she watches!posted 572 days ago -

The Wendell Baker Story
by ~Lissa~The Wendell Baker Story...when you first see Wendell Baker smile it makes you smile too and feel happy. So who cares that he doesn't have a real job and doesn't know how to tell the hot Eva Mendes that he loves her, he still has the charisma to get people to like him. Speaking of Eva Mendes, she had no role in this movie besides pouting and being pretty, is this why I haven't seen her win any awards? Ouch! I don't know why I'm being so mean to her but c'mon really?!
Anyways, the first half of this movie kinda dragged and Luke Wilson's looks alone couldn't carry it.
I'm sorry I like Owen Wilson in other movies he's done but in this one I'm like if I've gotta see his broken ass nose and wonder why he gets acting jobs I'm gonna kill myself!
Overall though, it was a good movie, it worked out nicely and I enjoyed the ending.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
by LupusOkay so I feel obligated to give Messrs Lucas, Harrison & Spielberg the three minimum stars they deserve for kickin up some old school fun. However, I feel that this story only had a good start. The rest was just to finish it up, not finishin it strong. Insufficient humour and alien bits seem a bit off to me too. Ray Winstone is sellin out fast! Ah goodbye, Indy!

Forgetting Sarah Marshall
by ~Lissa~After seeing this movie I too am shocked to see that the overall Flixster rating is only 2 1/2 stars! WTF kind of people are on this site rating movies?!
This movie was hilarious! Within the first 10 minutes me and the audience were cracking up when he took off the towel. Loved the sound effects!
I like movies like this that are funny and you can relate to them, that is if you are an old fart like me.
Poor Peter Bretter gets his heart stomped on by Sarah Marshall and taking his stepbrother's advice, he takes a trip to Hawaii. Unfortunately she has already checked in with her new rocker boyfriend Aldous Snow. Things aren't all bad as he soon finds out when the cute front desk attendant takes a liking to him.
The storyline was great as the movie moved along nicely, the jokes kept coming, and you learn some new sex positions.
If you had a good time watching any of the other movies, you will definitely enjoy this one! Hurry and see it while it's still in the theaters!posted 581 days ago -

Rane (The Wounds)
by LupusI'm handicapped by my class and I don't know much about this conflict but it's obvious this isn't somethin profound like La Haine, although you can probably see that it is a genuine attempt to tell a similar story about youth disenfranchisement. Can a Croat please educate me?

Lars and the Real Girl
by LupusThought that the sex doll was gonna expose how fake people are. Better yet, it showed how easy it is to ascribe meanin, as long as you are sincere. A most subtle and charmin piece of decompensation behaviour, thanks to that man Ryan Gosling. Nailed Lars alright.
