What Happens in Vegas

Funny movie, really enjoyed watching it!

Plot: Set in Sin City, the story revolves around two people who discover they've gotten married following a night of debauchery, with one of them winning a huge jackpot after playing the other's quarter. The unhappy pair try to undermine each other and get their hands on the money--falling in love along the way.

In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale

Great movie good storyline and Jason Statham is excellent in this movie that is a bit different from his usual roles.

Plot: A simple family man is forced to take up arms after an evil sorcerer unleashes an army of bloodthirsty beasts that destroy his small village and capture his beautiful wife. As the marauding forces overrun the land in an effort to overthrow the king and his loyal magus, the once peace-loving peasant and his two companions venture into perilous, uncharted terrain on a daring rescue mission.

Goongnyeo (Shadows in the Palace)

Sure, palace politics was sexier and more fun in Curse Of The Golden Flower or The Banquet but where else can you watch Koreans usin fingernail torture? Some genuine storytellin here, unlike the mainstream South Korean shyte that flood the market. Complementary supernatural twist included.

The Forbidden Kingdom

This is the reason Chinese tourists all over the world get asked if they know kungfu. A cruel reflection of globalisation and commercialism indeed. Only thing amusin was Jackie Chan's introduction, a hark back exactly 30 years ago in Drunken Master.

Boarding Gate

Honestly, quite borin. Unnecessary slow buildup to what could have been a decent caper. Skanky Argento is probably playin herself. In fact all the characters look too real - meanin, they're incredibly borin and say incredibly borin things. Maggie Cheung's Clean was a much better effort from Assayas. I really like how Chinese people appear in Assayas' films!

Gandhi, My Father

For a Hindi film, this turned out pretty decent. It felt genuine and the melodrama can be quite rewardin at times. Akshaye has that look which convinces you that he truly is unlucky and he doesn't mean to be the cunt that he is. Of course, he looks nothin like the apparent real life bastard that we read about.

The Tattooist

Half-arsed NZ could-have-been that didn't benefit from Behr's two-tone face of stone nor the fact that it faked all gore, spooks and sex. Totally shortchanged. Ferryman beats this hands down. I can't believe this didn't even work as a special interest film for a tattoo enthusiast such as myself.

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead

I don't remember feelin this stressed out since Michael Douglas in Falling Down. How a movie can open with a pasty-faced white whale like Seymour Hoffman humpin the delectable Marisa Tomei and not suck? Slow-burnin, bad-to-worse suspenseful viewin. Lumet is back in the groove - yeah!

The Kite Runner

I don't know if that was how the book wanted to do it. If anythin, Amir's redemption is totally rushed and rather unlikely. The fake kite-flyin scenes made me feel short-changed too. Poor kids, I hope they got paid right in the end. Studio people, stop rippin people off!

Kong saan mei yan (An Empress and the Warriors) (The Kingdom and the Beauty)

Grammatically clumsy and cinematically lousy! This is just melodramatic Cantopop MTV bollocks. Leon Lai, Kelly Chen and the perpetually shirtless Donnie Yen haven't learned anythin about actin despite gettin so many deals! Avoid.

Good movie, really enjoyed it and was amazing how intelligent the character was.


Plot: Ben Campbell is a shy, brilliant M.I.T. student who--needing to pay school tuition--finds the answers in the cards. By counting cards and employing an intricate system of signals, the team can beat the casinos big time. Seduced by the money, the Vegas lifestyle, and by his smart and sexy teammate, Jill Taylor, Ben begins to push the limits. Though counting cards isn't illegal, the stakes are high, and the challenge becomes not only keeping the numbers straight, but staying one step ahead of the casinos' menacing enforcer: Cole Williams.

Barbed Wire Dolls

This was obviously a sexploitation flick but I can't get anythin out of it. My first Jesus Franco movie I think. Anyway, the only thing I remember from it is a woman flickin her clit with a burnin cigarette.

Superhero Movie

This was ok... a few funny moments but nothing spectacular.... I managed to get a nap in .....

Twisted Sisters

prettypersuasion, I can't believe you and I watched this. The DVD cover had me completely fooled. I thought C-grade sexploitation flicks don't get made anymore but it looks like I'm mistaken. And shitty British horror actress Fiona Horsey looks like a horse - I wasn't goin to be rude but I'm still angry I paid for this DVD.
