| The Unborn - PG-13 |
I like watching horror films and must say that in general i tend to give almost any film (with the exception of the Zac Efron and Co's movies), a decent chance at earning a good rating in my personal eyes. So having veiwed the trailer and been hopeful I looked forward to seeing The Unborn. And then the movie began and all was lost. The story is a little to convoluted, with too many aspects dredging in from all areas of the "horror textbook" troubled youngester, creepy deranged child, demonic spirit, weird old woman, and religous army to save everyone in an old abandoned buiding where no one can hear you scream. You could probably blend Rosemary's baby, The Omen and The Exorcist together for a bitter tasting The unborn smoothie and still be disappointed. to be fair it did have a good atmospheric scare building quality and provided a fair amount of make you jump scares but beside that the characters where a tad annoying and the story ran to unbelievable at times whilst ofther aspects were too predictable. and the endng was far to obvious, Good acting from Odette Yustman and Gary oldman throws in a good turn as usually but nothing great to behold from the Unborn! |

Excellent Hallmark moment film about a real life story of a man determined to be a teacher even though he has Tourette's syndrome. Excellent acting from James Wolk, a truelly inspiring story but also a joy to watch. |
