The Twilight Saga: New Moon

OK now this franchise just got really silly, the first film was actually ok in a dumb kiddie kind of way but this sequel is just dumber and VERY frustrating. Stewart's character is so annoying as she sulks around missing Edward the vampire and pissing everyone off by trying to kill herself and get attention all the time, she then finds Jacob the werewolf and falls for him but then he gives her the push and she sulks around over him and again tries to kill herself and get attention....this is not a good example to set for young teenage girls but I guess their mums are too busy watching the young topless boys on screen lol

The whole film is ridiculous and is almost soft silly MTV porn lol the werewolf characters all walk around topless and in shorts all the time which is kinda odd, the wolf cgi looks ok fur wise but then you see their faces and mainly the eyes and it all falls apart, the ending set in Italy is a mess and I couldn't follow what the hell was suppose to be happening haha and did I mention Bella flirting from Edward to Jacob every other scene not knowing who she wants *yawn* you just wanna slap her haha

Its virtually the same as the first film but with werewolves, more naughty vamps trying to kill Cullen and Bella and a very predictable outcome. I haven't read the books but from other reviews I have read these films don't compare in anyway, the shame is the first film was actually not bad as a teen angst vamp flick for the modern age, a kind of 'Lost Boys' crossed with 'Interview' but with a softer edge. This is just a preset, money spinning, cgi rushed Harry Potter type franchise like everything in this day and age, no quality or actual decent acting, its just faceless pretty people who are ten a penny in most films these days and will vanish into obscurity in years to come. There is yet a third outing for this sillyness to come despite the outcome of this film (they just love to whack out a preset trilogy for everything huh) and I will watch it simply for my love of anything to do with vamps and lycans, I know what I'm in for hehe

Afro Samurai: Resurrection

This is definitely one of the best manga flicks I've seen in awhile, the animation is so fluid and beautiful in places its truly a work of art. The plot is unoriginal and pretty predictable hehe think a Clint Eastwood 'man with no name' type black Samurai and lots of disposable enemies along the way ;)
Sure you know how its gonna end and whats gonna happen in every scene but it looks lovely and has some brilliant voice casting through both offerings (English versions).
Of course you have Sam Jackson perfectly cast for Afro, but throughout both films there is Mark Hamill (animation stalwart), Lucy Liu, John Di Maggio (Bender fame), Dwight Schultz (A-Team) and the always great Ron Pearlman.

I prefer Resurrection over the first I think, the inclusion of Lucy Liu as a sexy bitch hell bent on revenge tickles my fancy :) both films are kinda the same to be honest but Res is alittle more action packed with less flashbacks making the plot easier to follow. The first does jump around alot and only has action at the start and end really, some great sword fighting moments but limited compared to Res. The other thing I don't really like about Afro is the amount of robots or 'Terminator' like opponents Afro comes up against, it just seems to cheapen the whole idea for me, its a concept that's been done too much.

Plenty of blood spurting about in both accompanied by some nice sound effects and a decent soundtrack but I tend to lean towards Res as it is alittle more 'Blade' like if you get me haha both are brilliant though.

The Mothman Prophecies

One of the few movies that becomes better and better everytime I watch it.

I loved the plot and the atmosphere.

The performances were decent. Especially Richard Gere's performance was pretty good.

This movie is like a wine, which you have to taste many times until you decide if you like it or not and in the end becomes one of your favorites.

5 Stars Solid!! This movie is like the little engine that could.I hope this sweeps at Oscar time cause the entire cast is Well deserving.If I had to pick only 3 movies this year to make my UBER top 3 list this would be in there.Emotional ,raw and hard to watch because of the powerful performance by Monique,this is gonna be one of the tops for 2009,Oh and Lenny Kravitz is super hot...still =)

Inglourious Basterds

Typical Tarantino springs to mind with this, like almost every film he has made the style or mixed story lines is always evident and to be honest its kinda old now. Much like Pulp Fiction the stories jump around and intertwine themselves until you get the finished final story ending which wraps it all together, the stories aren't really that interesting and again in Tarantino style there are huge amounts useless dialog and not much else.
I've never seen the original Bastards film so I cant compare but suffice to say this new version is probably much more bloody and alittle unpleasant at times too, some scenes of death are quite nasty and leave a nasty after taste or feeling inside, you have to wonder why it needed to be quite so graphic at times, eg. a German officer getting his head and body smashed to bits by a baseball bat wielding US soldier, much to the delight of his comrades.

The acting is a total cross of brilliance and crapola, the brilliance being Christoph Waltz as a German officer, his performance is both intriguing and alluring as he switches between four European accents and shows a tour de force of acting. The crapola being Pitt as the US Lt, he is badly badly cast and shows how shite an actor he really is when you compare him to all the other performers, terrible choice and clearly made to bring in the $$$. Mélanie Laurent and Diane Kruger also give great performances both showing their bilingual and emotional skills in top form, the use of Euro languages does give the film a much needed boost of realism and competence which saves it from total disaster frankly.

A film of two halves really, its fine in places but bad in most, its also unnecessary violent in the small scenes of action and has way too much pointless speech in others. Don't believe the hype with this, just because Tarantino made it means nothing and rehashing the same formula in which to make a film is also a good way to bore people, Quentin needs to move on and try new ways of creating his films. Gloriously dull and overrated.

Gamer

When this started I thought it was gonna be crap, the plot sounded naff, it didn't reach the cinema and there have been many films like this before...mainly during the 80's, I was actually surprised :) this is not bad to be honest, for an unoriginal plot that harks back to 'The Running Man' its pulled off quite well.

The main thing is the fighting sequences which do look pretty good and 'game' like, you could be watching a frag fest like Halo when watching this and it probably would be like this if it were real. The 'interactive computer net world' sections of the film are handled well too showing how the controllers use their real life 'players', it does come across as believeable which really holds the film together, the other game shown in the film being a 'The Sims' style game which is also well done but maybe a tad too much cliched sex going on...but I guess thats kinda real too haha

The plot is a mix of afew films sure but the director does manage to show other angles to the story which do relate well to todays interactive game world, Butler is also a good choice as the main 'slayer' and continues his good run but thats it for cast really.

Sounds like a real B-movie but its pretty decent and worth checking out, still can't quite beat the classic Running man with Arnie though ;)

It's an ok movie, with some good action scenes, a nice story and cute young actors. I don't think you will get bored. Why not to try and watch it if u have nothing better to watch.

Sweet Lord and holy cow!!!! New moon is finally here!!! I was expecting for so long to see Edward again (TEAM EDWARD for ever!!!!!). And what a nice surprise was Jacob.... I have to admit Jacob was smoking HOT!
For my dissapointment New Moon didn't have the feeling of Twilight but still guys if it's about Edward that's enough lol. I also didn't like much the make up of the vampires it seemed too obvious, but anyway I am not a make-up artist so what do I know lol. Shit I am so excited I just can't hide it! And yes I am gonna say it! Can't wait for Eclipse!!!!

Freakin Awesome,I was in the mood for some bllood ,gore and git,I should have known that Tarantino would satisfy all my needs so well.Excellent cast,I was totally surprised to see Mike Myers in this,too funny,I love the sarcastic humor and cutthroat storyline,LOVED it.If you haven't seen this I would check it out very soon,HIGHLY recommended!

Julie & Julia

Highly enjoyable film!! Meryl Streep just keeps managing to top herself.She really poured her heat and soul into this movie and became Julia Child,very believable too.Lots of innocent laughs and all around just a good feeling movie all around,you'll be happy you took the time to watch this one.

Pretty good.I liked this one a lot better than the first,there was much more going on,keeps you interested for sure.The first one had some slow points this is much better pace.And all I have to say to put the icing on the cake is bravo Taylor Lautner all those work outs paid off... WHEW!

Tale of the Mummy

This really was a poor film , full of corny lines , bad acting and dull special effects. You could tell the director is not English as all the characters were because of some stupid steriotypical moments such as red phone boxes in ever street scene,lemon tea being drunk by bobby's and whats with everyone carrying a gun??? This was not Across 110th Street!.Apart from that the film was dull. Dont confuse this film with THE MUMMY because although the mummy wasnt a masterpiece it was far better than this fair. If you wanna be scared dont bother with this tripe
