About Me
I think I know what makes good movie veiwing, really its not that hard to pick out, putting it into legible text is the hard bit. Ive done acting courses at NIDA (National Institue of Dramatic Art) and aspire to become a full time actor after I finish my upcoming military service. Then you lot can have me on your favorites list, which would be sweet. As far as my personality goes, if you really must know, Im known by and large to be extremely blunt, so im not timid about telling you what i really think, and im very un-politically correct (example: Zac Efron and all his ilk are maggoty little pretty boy faggots) Any other time I can range from one thing to another at any given time. Happy now? Im told im funny and articulate, which I guess is good when im not being sarcastic. I utterly despise widgets, emo's, musicals, chain emails and....... a whole bunch of other stuff. I love movies, acting, comedy, writing and........a big pile of more things.

Top Movie Moment: King Leonidas has risked everything to fight tooth and nail against evil King Xerxes, but, he drops his gear, falls to his knees and BOWS to Xerxes! Oh No!! But then he yells "Stelios" and his buddy pops out and skewers a guy making a peace offering. Great stuff!

Yeah its a damn Tarantino movie, and we all know what that means. A shitload of talking and character building. Either you enjoy the diolauge or you fast forward it, we all know that. If your willing to sit through the entire thing, as with most Tarantino movies you do eventualy get rewarded with cool shit, but you have to be willing to either wait or fast forward.

Yeah ok so its all artsy and deep and meaningful and yeah whatever, that doesent change the veiwing quality one bit, its still some wacky Korean movie as far as im concerned. I hate how any foreign country (Japan, ect...) can make a mediocre monster movie and have it raved over because"Ooohh its all strange and different". Big deal. Its still kinda crappy.

Justins Best Bit: Slightly creepy first view of the monster in a public place.

Now let me stress the fact that I have not seen any of the other Halloweens or anything to do with Micheal Myers. But if they are anything like this, which Im sure they arent, then they should be fricken great. Youve gotta give zombie some credit, he copped alot of shit for his first couple of movies, well lets see you make a full length feature film for the first time and make it perfect you fucken nit-pickers. He has definately evolved and matured as a film maker, but his trademark sickness and degredation is still plainly obvious, and it just wouldnt be a Rob Zombie movie without a bit of an appearance by Sid Haig. The movie manages to really suck you into the Myers world, by spending excellent character development time on the young killer, which really makes you see and synpathise with that tormented young boy behind the mask. This is then advanced by the reputation he gains after his initial spree. But probably the creepiest thing this movie does, is take you on a trip to your childhood, back when you still beleived in monsters and the boogeyman, and make you remember the fear you felt imagining an attack by such a creature. Well that is exactly what hapens to two young kids who, to their credit, acted it brilliantly and beleivably. Watching the "Boogeyman" terrorise the children kind of makes you feel like a scared kid yourself and that is so extremely rare in a horror movie. Overall, this is definately worth watching, whether youve been accustomed to the Myers legacy or not.

Justins Best Bit: "Was.........that the.......the.....boogeyman?"

"You know what? I truly beleive that it was"

Now i can respect adventurous filmaking as much as the next person, but this, as far as im concerned has just gone too far. I mean its really unessacary the kind of sick crap that goes on. It's a movie that really gives you all those horrible ghastly aspects of primitive, and perhaps evil life, and makes you feel horrified. But not in the way that you are used too, because of its seedy underground heritage, you never really know if what your seeing through the cracks in your fingers is real or fake. The animal slaughter is for real, thats for sure. This is one for the truly weathered and hardened fans of gore, Im talking five star gore army gernerals are only just gonna be able to cope with this twisted shit.
Superbad Superbad R 3.5 Stars
Unfortunately most of the humor in this movie is drawn from the angry angry rantings of the fat kid, and the casual humor of Seth Rogen. And for such a comedic effort, its got a pretty sad and depressing ending. All in all its under par where it shouldnt be.

Justins Best Bit: Cool as a cucumber Seth Rogen
Dead & Deader Dead & Deader Unrated 2.5 Stars
Zombie movies always try to set themselves apart from all the other zombie movies, this time a soldier gets infected by a zombie virus, and becomes half zombie. Omigosh!! It starts out allright enough, focusing largely on the powers this guy developes, but quickly degenerates into another lame survival movie. After a while you remember, oh yeah that dudes half zombie. A bit uninspired one not really a whole lot different from the others. Could have been though.

Justins Best Bit: These zombies actually get green blood. Now thats the way it should be.

    Iron Man Iron Man
    4.0 Stars by Duncan
Other reviews I've read have been mixed, so I was worried that my eager anticipation of this movie was unwarranted. Thankfully, Iron Man turned out to be a rather enjoyable experience for me.

Robert Downey Jr. is excellent as the movie's protagonist: genius inventor and weapon's tycoon Tony Stark. He starts off as snarky and arrogant, but he undergoes a change of heart (both figuratively and literally) after he's captured by terrorists who use weapons he's manufactured to do their dastardly deeds. He escapes, thanks to a bitchin' suit of armor he built on the fly, and vows to use his technology for the betterment of mankind rather than it's destruction. He returns to America, retires to his fancy seaside condo, and begins work on a second prototype of that same suit of armor.

As I mentioned before, Downey's performance was fantastic. The supporting cast was pretty good overall as well, particularly Gwyneth Paltrow as Stark's perky assistant Pepper Potts (alliterative names are so fun, aren't they?). The only chink in the armor, as far as the cast is concerned, is Terrance Howard. He seems like he's going through the motions, like a high school freshman who doesn't want to be in the play, but his parents forced him to audition for it. His role isn't that big, thankfully, so his lackluster performance is tolerable.

My one and only gripe, and one I'll probably get flack for, is that there's not enough action. I like superhero movies with an engaging story and dynamic characters, and Iron Man's characters and plot are well rounded. But more emphasis is put on plot development than blowin' shit up, rahter than finding a balance between the two. Spider-Man and Batman Begins are movies that have successfully found this balance, which is what made them so great.

That doesn't mean Iron Man is terrible. In fact, it's far from it. The action that IS there is beautifully orchestrated, the special effects are top notch, and the script is well-written. Throw in the best cameo by Stan Lee since Mallrats, and you have yourself a great superhero movie.

Not a bad way to start the summer...
If you haven't seen it yet, and you plan on seeing it in the theater, wait through the credits. Not only will your ears be treated to Tony Iommi crankin' out sweet riffs, but there's an extra scene that'll be worth the wait...
