Yes I actually paid to watch that :)

In a few words this is a romantic comedy which has nothing complicated.
Good actors who decided to have some fun and easy money, few barely funny moments and a wish there was something better on the cinema to watch.

Ah... a movie everyone has been talking about... What do we have in here? We have a great cake! We have the best recipe, perfect igredients and a fine cooker! Everyone concentrates on the cake, it has to be perfect, the expectations are big, everyone wants to eat well! And indeed, the cake ends up to be fantastic! But there is something missing...
And something was missing indeed from the movie. Great director, actors, storyline, visual effects, BUT... they tried too much, all were planned to make this movie the perfect one and that is why "The curious case of Benjamin Button" is not a masterpiece... (that's what was missing from the cake! Love and enthusiasm! Yes they are necessary to make the perfect cake, I am not exxagarating !). Just my feeling...
Other than that I do recommend it without hesitation, because it is a well done movie, with one outstanding performance from Brad Pitt (dammit! don't you kinda hate people who are that good-looking and that talented?) which will touch you.

(OMG I need to read the book lol)

A good decent spoof of Bram Stokers Dracula, and many a Hammer horror film. It has the king of spoof films in Leslie Nielsen being very silly indeed. Very light hearted by todays standards. A good fun film with some impressive sets I have to add!

A tough, honest, heartbreaking account of a rebellious loner Paul Newman in a marvelously controlled and stunning performance who is sentenced to a southern chain- gang and who's non-conformist ways put he at odds with the sadistic prison camp captain played brilliantly by Strother Martin. Stellar performances form a vibrant cast of characters actors, including George Kennedy in his Oscar winning role as Dragline the brutal leader of the chain-gang crew. Extremely well directed by Stuart Rosenberg. Highly Recommended.

Paul Newman's towering virtuoso performance as an alcoholic, ambulance-chasing attorney Frank Galvin, dominates this intense courtroom drama where he has one last chance at integrity and solvency, when he takes on a impossible to win medical malpractice case. A taut, well-crafted film with a excellent screenplay by David Mamet, based on Barry Reed's novel. an impeccable cast, with James Mason a standout as Newman's legal foil. Sidney Lumet's astute direction makes this a powerful and superlative film. Highly Recommended.

I loved this touching story! Sandra Bullock's character takes a homeless 17 year old boy into her family. She doesn't even know him and yet opens her heart and home to him. This is based on a true story...it takes a special person to do what this woman did. This is a must see for those who like movies that tug at the heart strings. I've waited years for Trick 'r Treat to actually be released (Damn you WB!!). So you can imagine, how excited I'm. Trick 'r Treat is regarded as one of the best horror movies in years, is it that good? Well, yes. It doesn't mean it's scary filled with lots of blood and gore scene, or scary faces? A good horror movies can either scared the shit out of you, or simply makes you spooked; and what Halloween movie supposed to do? Spook you out!

There are 4 stories, 3 of them which is down right creepy and fresh, sadly i dislike the third one (Children story line), but don't get down with that. The movie starts out with a bang! followed up with twisted, funny and eerie storyline. Direction is great, love how the director managed to capture every detail of Halloween theme; like candy bars, mask, blood, festival, vampires, werewolves, childrens, psychotic, etc. Cast did awesome, Anna Paquin is just sensational.

So, what are you waiting for?

Similar to Hitchcock's "Spellbound" about an amnesiac trying to unlock key memories that will answer a puzzling mystery. It absolutely captures the early 70's psychedelic thing without being cheesy and It has a convoluted plot and certainly isn't easy to predict.
The cinematography is great, and the generally creepy, dream-like atmosphere is intensified by another ingenious score.
    A must for Giallo fans!

    Chaplin Chaplin
    by Fabio
Charlie Chaplin: comedian, actor, filmmaker, star,genius.... human being. The life of the historic trail-blazing British star and filmmaker Charlie Chaplin is told in this very good film from Richard Attenborough.
Not told in perfect linear fashion, as the film bounces around some from event to event, Chaplin is a very good film with a lot to admire. Under Attenborough's tight direction, cinematographer Sven Nykvist lights up the fabulous Oscar-nominated sets wonderfully and John Barry's excellent score sets the mood. Unfortunately no supporting performances outside of Kevin Kline, Diane Lane, and Geraldine Chaplin are particularly memorable - but Robert Downey Jr. gives a brilliant performance as Mr. Chaplin.
You completely forget that you are watching Robert Downey Jr. play Chaplin. No matter what stage of life - young, middle aged, or old - Downey Jr. transforms himself into Charlie Chaplin, assuming his quirky mannerisms and completely original and unique style of entertaining but also creating a real human being on screen.

    Secret Window Secret Window
    by Mare
    SUMMARY
psychological thriller starring Johnny Depp, John Turturro, Maria Bello and Timothy Hutton. based on the novella Secret Window, Secret Garden by Stephen King. directed by David Koepp.

after finding his wife in bed with another man, writer Mort Rainey (Depp) wants nothing more than to just be left alone. enter John Shooter (Turturro), a man claiming that Rainey stole his idea for one of his novels.

    MY TAKE
what happens when you cross my favorite actor with a movie based on a novella by my favorite writer? one of my favorite movies of all-time of course! to say that I love this film is an understatement. the writing is fantastic and the acting is amazing. Depp once again dives deep into character, becoming the broken individual that is Mort Rainey.

I love Mort. he is my favorite fictional character of all-time and I must say, I am somewhat envious of his life. I, too, would love to live in a bathrobe, in a cabin by a beautiful lake, working on my writing, eating corn all day. xD

one of Depp's finest performances. this is the reason why I love this man so. he is one of the best actors of our time. period.

    simply perfection. ♥

Jessica Tandy really shines in this movie with the performance of her lifetime.
Morgan Freeman is amazing with a performance that makes you love him. He is just so sweet and charming yet witty in his performance. This movie shows a lot about a friendship that blossoms over the years between two people who are totally different yet the same.

Funny People is a movie that some people will call brilliant and some will think is completely stupid and off base. I don't fall to either side, but I do think it was what it's name implies- funny- and very well done. Brilliant? Probably not at all, but definitely worth seeing.

    by Fabio
This is a film unique and intriguing in its own special way. The apparent lack of emotions of the story indeed tells of so many emotions and speaks so many words unspoken. The interactions of Odd with other eccentric people on his retirement night indeed reflect his inner feelings of eagerness for a new start on one hand and his unpreparedness for loss of his routines on the other. The human interactions in the film are portrayed in such a frank and pure way that the whole film is filled with a subtle warmness despite the snowy streets of Oslo. By breaking away from the "rails" that had rooted him to the ground for so many years and by embarking on a new stage of life, Odd finally has the time to redeem, rediscover, and to reappraise, and to finally live a life without pre-set rails and tracks. A very warm, touching and enchanting piece of work which is at times surreal and at all times unique. It may be short of words sometimes but is never short of a uniquely human touch.
Fabolous, great acting, great picture and great soundtrack.

This is another classic movie directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Basically about a couple who have their son kidnapped when the stumble upon a assassination plot. The movie stars James Stewart and Doris Day. They both give top notch performances. The movie has a great story. Very entertaining. Plus the entire film has that look and feel to a Hitchcock type movie. The movie is not as good as other Hitchcock movies like Vertigo, North by Northwest or Rear Window. But it still is a classic. Well worth a watch.

District 9; I'm not sure what was my reaction after the movie ends. I liked it, of course, but I'm not sure i get the hype surrounding this one. The story is simple, original, creepy and somehow cliche. Alien mother ship some how landed not in New York or England, South Africa (you gotta give credit for that one!). so the government set up a department specialize for Aliens thing, and even they have like slum where the 'prawns' resides. Thing were interesting from the first half, but when it comes to the second half i lose interest and a very predictable ending.

I love how real the Aliens and humans looks like, amazing effect here. Good cast too, unknown actors. Not so much on the cinematography, though they shot it quite good in 'documentary' style, but left a big plot hole.

    7/10.

Lavish, but uninvolving musical about a film director trying to assemble his latest movie. He doesn't have a script or even a story yet. Ironically, this update of Fellini's 8 ½ has barely a thread of a story itself. The drama's raisin d'etre appears to be the extravagant musical numbers. The problem is, they just aren't very good. Songs "Be Italian" and "Cinema Italiano" both appear midway through the film to add some needed life. They are at least vibrant set pieces. As for the performances, they're underwritten. The various women in his life (wife, mistress, star, costume designer, etc) wander into his life to sing a number and then wander off just as soon as they had appeared. Only actress Marion Cotillard playing his neglected wife, evokes any sort of emotional response from the viewer. She actually gives what could be called a performance. For awhile, when she's on screen, the audience begins to care.
