I enjoy movies that are classic, foreign, independant, and are just simply good to watch (that means if it's R-rated, there's a good chance I won't see it).
I've been noticing that many movies are having sequels made of them, as well as third and fourth enstallments. I ask: What's the use??? If a movie was brilliant and had a good conclusion, why on earth would you drag it up again just to make some pathetic, half-baked 'continuation' of it. Many secondary enstallments of a movie are just more of the first one; the same actors/actresses going on a similar mission or solving a similar conflict just so that more money can be made off of the series. That only shows that movie makers cannot think up anything new to make a movie out of; some examples are: Disney (their many pathetic sequels), Shrek 2 & 3, Ocean's 12 - the list could go on and on! So, unless specifically mentioned in a review, SEQUELS ARE WORTHLESS! ~Alex |

In the Heat of the Night

Although racism rears its ugly head, Mr. Tibbs (Poitier) never backs down and is determined to solve the murder that he has gotten literally dragged into.
Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House
Unrated
Ah the joys of building one's own home... A truly funny movie. Cary Grant's slapstick routines never fail to please.
WALL-E

Pixar has certainly outdone itself with this incredibly touching story! How could one not completely love WALL-E? His innocence is quite moving; you pull with him all the way through this movie. The idea of getting back to living off one's own produce as opposed to having things handed to a person also makes for interesting consideration. All in all a brilliant film!
The Country Girl
Unrated
I've only seen the first part, but it was so good! I'd love to see the rest of the movie.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
Unrated
Such a hilarious story! I enjoy watching Danny Kaye's antics throughout this film.

1.
Pride and Prejudice
PG
Definately one of my fav movies!!! Utterly captivating with a beautiful setting.
2.
Help!
G
I love this flim sooo much! I first saw it when I was 9 and I couldn't stop singing their songs!
3.
The Freshman
PG
I love this movie <3 It has great music along with it too. The dialogue in this flim is well thought-out; if you don't listen carefully you'd miss all of the good stuff.
5.
The Italian Job
PG-13
Even though it has almost nothing to do with the original, it is a very good movie. It's a favourite of mine because it's straight up cool! People don't have to swear their faces off, or shoot everything that moves just to have an action movie. I love the interaction between everyone in the film as they pull off their plans. Also, they have good music in it.
6.
Marie Antoinette
PG-13
I absolutely loved this movie!! I don't care what the critics say - they shouldn't shape your view anyways - Sofia Coppola did a wonderful job; the rock music did fit in perfectly by the way. Kirsten Dunst portrayed Marie Antoinette as such a naive young woman, which I believe she was. How could she have known or even wanted to know of the world outside Versailles, when she had everything that she could desire right there; it was all given to her. Marie Antoinette probably was a bit of an airhead at times, but under all the pressure of the French court luxuries might have served as a way to 'escape' and not think about things. All in all, very good movie, and I'm glad that it ended how it did (no spoilers here).

Well, I've heard that French is hard. I don't know. Spanish is a fun and confusing language. Once you get past the proper conjugating of words and different participle (haha, I don't remember much)stuff, it's a lot of fun.
I agree. I see no reason for naturally grown produce to cost more. Possibly it's because they are in such high demand. I don't do a ton of eco-friendly stuff but I recycle too. Well, at least my family does. We like to and it's nice to know that we're giving back to the planet (as lame as that may sound).
Ah, Social Insurance Number makes much more sense! Haha.
I will definately keep you updated on the college journey. Right now my mom and I are working through the loan application process. Ugh!
Aww, I'm so happy for your friend. I'm sorry you didn't get the chance to be in the delivery room though. Maybe if another friend or the same friend has a baby you'll get another chance. I'm sure she's precious. I'm so happy for you and the new parents!!
Aww, I'm sorry for your wrist. Last year my brother got stung on the lip by a wasp. I hope your wrist is feeling better! Your cousin moved that date for her wedding? Wow. I hope everything works out.
It's okay that you haven't responded for a while. I haven't been around to check my e-mail as often. Right now I'm in the busiest part of my summer. I had my family reunion on Sunday and then went home with my cousins and my brother to stay at my cousin's reunion. My parents joined us on Monday morning. We did activities with my cousins and just came home today (Thursday). Tomorrow I'm going to spend the night with my friend Katie until August 2nd. We're going to go to Put-In-Bay. It's going to be so much fun and I can't wait! I'll let you know how it goes. Hope you're having a great summer!

I knew people in Canada spoke French. It's part of the cirriculum? Cool. I've heard that French is a difficult language to learn. I'm sure you know enough though. I took three years of Spanish. The third year is optional but I decided to take it. Hopefully I can take spanish classes in college, I don't know. And trust me, I am far, very far, from being fluent. I know enough to carry on introductions and possibly a little more but that's about it.
Coldplay, for the most part, is great for relaxing. My favorite song is "Clocks" if you didn't know. Chris's voice is so soothing. Haha, he's cool.
My family are not vegetarians and don't buy organic food. I kind of wish would buy organic food but my parents don't make a lot so we can't afford it. I think it's hard to be eco-friendly in this world because it's so expensive. It's like you have to be rich to make the world a better place or something. But I do realize that I could take small steps and make my own contributions. Haha, that's my little rant. I know, why is organic stuff so expensive? Is it that there's not much of it and it's in high demand? I don't know.
Haha, whatever you find out about the Social Security Number thing let me know. I'd be interested to learn something new. :)
I'm glad your jaw is at least feeling a little better. I don't want my wisdom teeth pulled either but I might have to have them pulled in the future. Either way, I'll keep you updated. Good luck if you have to have them pulled.
Ooh, the nail polish sounds pretty. I usually don't pay attention to nails and just look at the color. I'm glad to hear you liked "Wall-E". It was a cute movie. I suppose I'm biased but I think all the good children's movies were made when we were kids. What do you think?
Oh, guess what??? I went to orientation yesterday!! It was sooo much fun and I can't wait for college. I even made a couple friends already. I can explain more later because I'm running out of room! Take care.

Yeah, the Asian students I have known, at least the girls, work much harder than a lot of us. They pretty much have to since english isn't their primary language. The asian students I have known were all cool. School all day definately doesn't sound fun. I probably wouldn't make it! Lol.
Don't worry, I'm not beating myself up about it. I checked and the album is kinda expensive where I checked so I might wait to purchase it. I know "Violet Hill" is great. It's awesome how they all look like they're having so much fun. I agree, Chris Martin is awesome. His voice is pretty soothing to me.
Wow! Santa Cruz, CA sounds amazing. It sounds like an awesome getaway. I'm glad you have fun there. Are you really into organic food? (just curious).
I wish your cousin the best of luck in her wedding planning. It takes a lot of work and 5 weddings is gonna be crazy.
Maybe it's easier to get a job in Canada than where I live. Idk. You don't have a Social Security Number? Does social security work different in Canada. In the States we get a Social Security number when we're born. Haha, good luck with a job anyway.
Yay!! I'm so glad your car is fixed!! Haha, I don't know anything about cars either!! Sorry you couldn't make it to the boat show though.
Aww, I hope your jaw feels better so you can eat in peace. No, I don't have my wisdom teeth yet. Actually I haven't been to the dentist for a few years (my parents don't have dental coverage, I think) so I don't know if they should be pulled or not. The other day my bottom left side felt funny. But it doesn't bother me now so I don't know. My wisdom teeth may be coming in but not a lot yet.

P.S. Sorry I haven't read your e-mail about Seattle yet. I've been kinda busy lately.
P.P.S. Haha, I was full of questions this time!posted 18 days ago -
Yeah, schools in Asia and Europe are much harder. There have been foreign exchange students at my school and one girl shared that they would be at school pretty much all day. It sounded terrible. Haha, sometimes slapping forheads is neccesary.
As far as Coldplay's new album, I almost want to kick myself (haha, mostly kidding). I was shopping with my friends on Wednesday at WalMart and forgot to see if they had it!! Oy. I don't really have any money right now anyway. Oh, just to let you know, the official video of "Violet Hill" is on Youtube. It's good. I would be more than happy to listen to your tales of California sometime.
Haha, thanks!! I hope the coasters you ride have intensity ratings too!
Yes, weddings require A LOT of planning. I don't know this from experience but it's pretty obvious. It's a good idea to plan now. That way when the wedding happens, you can relax. Good luck getting a job. If Canada is anything like the States you'll have a hard time. I hope you don't have any trouble though. Yay!! Sometimes family weddings are soo exciting. I say "sometimes" because one summer I attended five weddings, three of which were family. It was crazy. But I bet you'll have a lot of fun!
Sleepovers are awesome!! Haha, you'll have to ask your friends to have one and then tell me the details.
Awww, car trouble stinks!!! Sorry you missed the festival. I know I would have been upset. I hope all goes well after the long weekend. Yay!! It's good to see friends when they've been gone for a long time or you haven't seen them for a while. I'm happy for your good news and will pray for the bad news. You take care too!!

P.S. If I didn't tell you yet I am officially going to Mount Vernon Nazarene University next year. I have orientation on July 11th. I can't wait!!posted 22 days ago -
Good. I will look forward to any fanfiction updates.
I hope you can find "True Women" too. It's definately worth a watch. Plus there's Indians in it which I love.
Well, as far as high school in the States, we can take certain classes that pertain to our future major but for the most part take regular classes. For example, I took Child Development and Psychology because I knew I wanted to be a teacher. Some students use electives to use for their major, some don't. Other students go to career centers, there's about one career center per county I think. Haha, here I am going on and on about school *slaps forhead*.
I might be going shopping some with friends on Wednesday so maybe I'll check how much the album is. Would you believe that the only Coldplay album is their "Live 2003" concert CD? I'm going to see about asking my friend Katie to burn some of her CD's for me.
You've been to California?? I'm sooo jealous. Haha, I've hardly been out of the bordering states of Ohio. The nice thing about Cedar Point is that each ride has an intensity rating. The coasters I went on were about 4 which is a High Thrill Ride (bigger ones would probably be like 6 or 7, I think). I'm glad you have a friend that would go with you. That always helps. My best advice is to start with minor coasters and work your way up (if you're planning on riding big ones).
I'm glad you had a lot of fun in Seattle. Aww, I hope you feel better though. I hate getting sick during the summer, it always stinks. YYYAAAYYY!!! I don't know your cousin but I'm happy for her!! Haha. Wow! You'll have to tell me about the wedding, when it happens. I only have two first cousins (random fact).
I don't seem to run out of room very often. Haha, oh well.
As far as current events and me, I went to a sleepover thing on Friday with ex-junior and ex-senior friends. It was a lot of fun. We had a campfire, went swimming and watched movies. Then we kicked the guys out and us girls watched movies.

Wow, I've never had a migraine. I know they're terrible though. I hope they get better. When I get the invite I'll check out your blog. Don't worry I'm not going to violate your trust or anything. What is on the webpage stays on the webpage. Have a good week too!

Sweet, my fanfiction screenname is becks1289. Haha, I use that name for just about everything. When you post a story or customize your author page, let me know. I'll let you know when I do either of those too.
I'm going to try to write to do lists from now on. They work for my mom so I bet they would work for me. Sweet, I used to have stationary with my name on it. That's cool.
Yeah, "True Women" is a good movie and it's probably best if you watch it in two parts. Wow, that's crazy. He was playing video games the whole day? I don't think I could do that.
It's okay, sometimes I'm not that great at explaining either. So, let me know if I get this wrong, your school is pretty much a career center. You study what you think you'll do for the rest of your life. At least that's how I interpret it. It sounds cool. So, when you go back next year, will you go the entire year or just a semester? Yay! It's free! Free stuff is awesome. Good luck on graduating next year. It's really exciting!
Awesome, wanna buy a Coldplay album for me? Just kidding! I haven't looked too much into buying one yet. My cousin has Violet Hill on his playlist on Myspace, he doesn't own it. He told me the song has something to do with the victorian era or something. I'll have to ask him again. I know, the name is sooo romantic, haha.
Yeah, Cedar Point was great. Tara was awesome and I was sooo thankful I got my purse back. I consider it a miracle. I went to Cedar Point with my youth group on Saturday too. It was so much fun. I actually went on two roller coasters (mild ones) and a few other rides. It was great.
Wow! Have fun in Seattle. I will anxiously await hearing about your trip. Talk to you later! I'll explain in fuller detail about Cedar Point through e-mail.
