Hotel Rwanda (2004,  PG-13)
Hotel Rwanda
Easily one of the best films of all time. It's Don Cheadle's best performance and he's been tremendous in every film he's done. It's amazing the type or courage and selflessness the hotel manager displays. It also helps viewers to understand what is happening in other areas of the world.
2
The Court Jester (1956,  Unrated)
3
The Illusionist (2006,  PG-13)
The Illusionist
One of my all time favorites. So much better than The Prestige. Great performances by all. Perfect timing on the reveal.
4
Cinderella Man (2005,  PG-13)
Cinderella Man
Best Boxing movie ever!!! No question. A great underdog tale with great performances by Russell Crowe, Renee Zellwegger and Paul Giamatti. At one point Crowe is being told that he shouldn't fight because his opponent has killed 2 people in the ring, I thought it was a great line when he says "so what you're tellin' me is boxing dangerous?". Great great film, definately reccommend
5
American Beauty (1999,  R)
American Beauty
An all time great, it really points out that we all have our vices and problems. Spacey is perfect. Mena Suvari was excellent.
6
Donnie Brasco (1997,  R)
Donnie Brasco
Best cop goes undercover in the mob movie ever. Depp and Pacino what more can you ask for.. yes in my book that trumps DiCaprio/Nicholson. Truly great film.
7
Gran Torino (2009,  R)
Gran Torino
2008 was a good year for great films. I've yet to see all of them but from what I've seen Gran Torino is far and away the best. Eastwood is spectacular as Walt Kowalski, a man who reminded me a bit of my grandfather. I loved the story which in a nutshell shows grumpy old men that the world isn't so bad, and the world that grumpy old men aren't so bad. Eastwood's best film as a director in my opinion, and that's saying something.

Box Elder (2008,  Unrated)
Box Elder
Todd Sklar is an evil genius. This movie is fantastic and if you haven't seen it yet, you need to. Check out the trailer and get your hands on a copy! Great for a new comedy.
9
Remember the Titans (2000,  PG)
Remember the Titans
Watched this again today. This movie is brilliantly made, I cannot believe how overlooked this movie is. The best football movie ever... Friday Night Lights sucked. The racial tensions are shown perfectly and Washington, Harris and Patton are great. Scene stealing young Hayden Panattiere as well.
