I just don't get it, this was a well crafted sci-fi movie, no it didn't have a ton of action but that wasn't the point, action would be useless and this pointed that out but still we stupid humans tried to kick alien ass like in independence day, but seriously... that wouldn't work, this explores whether we can actually slow down and use our words and our brain and be diplomatic once in a while, probably not. Brilliant at the beginning but it does lose a bit toward the end, most movies do though.. still enjoyed it.
Michelle Williams is excellent, but the dialogue is very shotty, it's amazing that the critics love some of these inependent films despite obvious flaws.
I don't see what's so amazing, but still a good watch. Juno's sense of humor isn't for everyone and I personally think Michael Cera was good, but severely underused.
What a bunch of utter garbage that this won best picture. Millionaire is just not entertaining. It's not even a movie it's just here's the question and here's what happened and this is how I know. The police arrest him for no reason and everyone knows it, then the millionaire show doesn't even apologize or mention what happened. Not to mention that all the questions he was asked on the show happened in succesion during his life.... really? How does that happen? The show asks each question and he learned each question in his ife in chronological order, he doesn't learn question one later in life and then question 5 earlier in life. It's question 1 at age 5, question 2 at age 8 and so on... ridiculous. If this film was made with American actores everyone would have ripped it apart, it's not the first time I've said such a thing but it's true. There are many others but Gran Torino is much more deserving of best picture than this.
Quite honestly *cheerleader voices please* "this, this movie is, is about cheerleading." Not as entertaining as Bring It On (there's actually a semi-tribute to the movie) or Bring It On All Or Nothing (with Hayden Panattiere). This movie truthfully is quite witty and intelligent, I think a movie with a plot of almost anything other than cheerleading would have made this movie quite good. Having said that it's pretty hit and miss.
Very interesting idea.. not pulled off particularly well though. A person with vision among the blind is a god among ants, there is no reason for most of the barbaric things that happen in the quarantine.
