Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain) (2001,  R)
Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain)
Oh who doesn't adore Tautou & her pixie haircut? Cute, quirky, intelligent. Casting is perfect. Cinematography is unique. Lovable characters. Multiple storylines that are EASY to follow. As adorable as this is, it's not afraid to get a li'l raunchy! Quite possibly, every aspect I would want covered in a film.

The Hunt for Red October (1990,  PG)
The Hunt for Red October
Virtually perfect. 1 of my all-time faves. Wouldn't change a damn thing. 2 of my fave actors as the leads. Action, violence, war, barely any women. Great character development throughout the entire film.
3
Party Girl (1995,  R)
Party Girl
Quirky cult classic. If you're a fashion buff, you'll want ALL of Posey's outfits--even down to her wEiRD tights. Her bizarre behavior keeps you reeled in. Townsend is simply a delicious man. The sountrack is shake-yo-booty material. The whole thing makes me wanna be a librarian. "Can I have a falafel with hot sauce, a side order of baba ganouj & a seltzer please?"
4
Strictly Ballroom (1992,  PG)
Strictly Ballroom
Amazing character development. The film keeps you rooting for "ugly duckling" Morice. I know nothing about competitive ballroom dancing, but the costuming & colors were captivating & appropriate throughout. You'd never believe it was Luhrmann's first film. BRILLIANT!
5
The Princess Bride (1987,  PG)
6
Heathers (1988,  R)
Heathers
One of my very first lessons in symbolism. The colors & costuming were brilliant. Dark & hilarious. You get to know every-single character. Depiction & casting are impeccable. Some of the most classic one-liners ever. & who doesn't love a Ryder narrative? If you haven't seen it yet, "What is your damage, Heather?"

Tons of testosterone. Could've done without the constant slo-mo. It was a lot more action than script; the less Butler talking, the better. Not much character building at all. Kudos to the period costuming & unique camera angles. Stays pretty true to the novel. Gotta love the blood & body parts flying all over the place!
18
Serenity (2005,  PG-13)

When Harry Met Sally (1989,  R)

Reservoir Dogs (1992,  R)
Reservoir Dogs
I love ALL the testosterone in this film... the gore, the violence, the language--BALLS OUT! LOVE IT!
21
The Pianist (2002,  R)
22
Being John Malkovich (1999,  R)
Being John Malkovich
Kooky. Imaginative. Yes, it's possible for Cameron Diaz to be a lesbian & look like crap. You get hooked on Cusack's neuroticism throughout. This film tests ALL the players' acting chops. Too much fun:D
23
Tank Girl (1995,  R)
24
The Big Lebowski (1998,  R)
