Muhammad: Legacy of a Prophet Unrated

The movie, Muhammad: Legacy of a Prophet is a documentary about the life of Muhammad. Muhammad?s life s is one of the most well known prophets in history due to the written documentation of those who followed him. Muhammad was born In the city of Mecca in the year 570. He was a orphan and very poor. Muhammad would often retreat to the mountain top to meditate. On one such visit to the mountain an angel appeared to him and squeezed him and told him to recite and he said he could not. He was told to recite again and that is when his eyes were opened. After this experience Muhammad was terrified and shaken by the experience. Khadijah, Muhammad?s wife, encouraged Muhammad to consult her cousin, who was a Christian. Khadijah?s cousin told him that he was the prophet and he would be persecuted by his people. He was to recite the words of the one true God. Muhammad went out to teach everyone that needed to change their ways and that when they died God would be the judge for your good deeds and bad deeds. Muhammad always said e was not a divine figure so do not put him on a pedestal like Jesus. His many followers were the poor and down trotted. Muhammad died on June 8, 632. People were angered because they thought he was murdered. However once they realized that Muhammad was just a man, but God lives on and he is our reverence.
This relates to my text because Muhammad is a major figure in the Islamic religion. The documentary does a great job on reflecting his life and teachings. Other religions of the world may try to discredit him as not being a prophet, but the Islamic people love him as a teacher and someone who they can use as an example to live their life.
