Arguably the greatest movie of all time. It's magic for every kid from 4 to 104 and I never get tired of watching it. The story is wonderful, Harold Arlen's score is pure genius and the costrast between the B&W of Kansas and the colours of Oz is inspired. It's not necessary to single any of the actors out for special praise because all of them are absolutely perfect.

My favorite horror movie. Is it the scariest? That depends on the attitude with which you are watching. Some claim that it's so over the top that it's hard to take it seriously. Maybe, but one can make the same argument against the Dracula, Frankenstein, Wherewolf and Zombie movies. In other words, it goes with the territory of the genre. Besides, since The Exorcist is (obviously very loosely - I hope:) based on a 'true story' it has a better case in terms of credibility than most other horror movies. But who cares? It works even if you're a cynic who views horror as comedy. It works on any level. I watch it at least once a year and I still get as big a kick out of it as when I saw it for the first time. Maybe there have been horror movies that are just as good, but I doubt if there is one that I would rank above it. If I'm only allowed to take one horror movie with me to the proverbial desert island, The Exorcist is the one for me.
