The Mist - R What a disappointment! Crap acting, worse CGI and really, REALLY bad dialogue and story development! Do...not...bother!!! December 17, 2009

(500) Days of Summer - PG-13 Really original and also the first fairly realistic romantic comedy I've seen to date. Funny and pretty sad at various points, there's nothing fluffy about this one :) December 8, 2009

You Don't Mess with the Zohan - PG-13 Pretty stupid but I stiil couldn't help laughing :) Adam Sandler and John Turturro are both just so silly :D November 18, 2009

The Ex - PG-13 "You banged my wife with that giant uncircumsized anteater!" Hahahahahaha!!!! Zach Braff and Jason Bateman are an AWESOME combo in this one! :D November 4, 2009

Weirdsville - R Totally hilarious heist gone wrong! Effete wannabe Satanists, bungling slacker junkies and testerone-fueled little people make this movie a scream :) November 4, 2009

Wristcutters - A Love Story - R I watched this while I was ill and still found it interesting enough to give a good rating. Quirky love story set in the after-life (for suicides). Pretty decent acting and rather funny in an understated kind of way. November 4, 2009

Totally Awesome - Unrated Pretty damn funny, because it parodies so many 80s teen movies that I loved so much. The dance-crazy sister is especially funny with her frequent overly-emotional outbursts. For some reason, Ione Skye's character from Say Anything kept springing to mind which made me laugh even harder. November 4, 2009

Slip - Unrated Fairly interesting concept, just badly executed. November 4, 2009

Up - PG Went to go see this at the cinema yesterday in 3D. Been wanting to do a review all morning, but I keep feeling like I'm still going to cry! It was SOOOO touching and wonderful and lovely - and no doubt the 3D experience added to that! I would have been embarrassed by my girly weepiness - except the guy I was with wanted to cry too... so I don't feel so bad :D October 12, 2009

Pontypool - PG Thought this was a pretty interesting and not the usual "run-of the-mill" horror movie. Kind of reminded me of a book I once read by Steven Hall called "The Raw Shark Texts" as it dealt with a similar concept, i.e. language as a virus. On the whole, a movie worth watching. Into the Wild - R This movie completely traumatised me! But I have to say that it was one of the most FASCINATING stories I've come across in a long time (probably because it's based on an actual person's life story).

It's incredible to think that someone so young had so much conviction, determination and drive.

Ask the Dust - R While I found this movie vaguely enjoyable, I have to say that there was something about it that sort of put me off. I think there was a self-consciousness to it that marred it for me. Like it was trying too hard to be a period melodrama or something... April 14, 2009
