The Incredible Hulk - PG-13 The Hulk might have rated higher this summer if not in the wake of the exceptional comic adaption effort found in Iron Man. Weak exposition but other wise well plotted and paced. Good but not great suits it well. July 5, 2008

Wanted - R Gorgeous piece of direction from Timur Bekmambetov with a fun and exciting back drop of a solid Mark Miller action story. Worth a watch, worth a trip to the theater, worth a DVD price, worth about anything.. but not quite worth 5 stars. July 4, 2008

Lady in the Water - PG-13 Enjoyable, touching, and well performed, the flaw that Lady in the Water suffers from is a sense of genre-hopping. While this sometimes works to a films advantage, pieces of humor mixed with horror, mixed with drama was often awkward or jarring. While never a bad movie, not as exceptional as it could have easily been. July 4, 2008

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - PG-13 I could never say Kingdom isn't a "fun" Indy movie. It has alot of the banter, action, and nigh-camp that made the first 3 films so great. However, the number of stars I give this movie in no way reflect my opinion on the plot itself. Trading the occult for science fiction, much of the charm and heart feels cast aside. Though the Jones films have always had that supernatural element, the strong base of faith and an awe of higher power made it somehow more important and respectful. Shiva's vengeance, the arc's awesome power, the sincerity of a crusade knight... all vastly more subtle than a flying saucer destroying a patch of rain forest. I'm not saying don't watch this movie, I'm saying don't expect to love it and maybe then you can LIKE it. June 5, 2008

Night of the Comet - PG-13 A childhood favorite, I recently re-watched this 80s horror for the first time in probably 20 years. Accepting that this is a mediocre zombie-esque horror full of flaws and cheese.. it's really not a bad time. May 28, 2008

Iron Man - PG-13 Exceptional for the comic adaption genre, Iron Man has solid execution and an attractive overall look. Tony Stark is deliciously flawed and played very well by Robert Downey, Jr. Terrence Howard is impressive as is typical for the actor and Jeff Bridges gives one of his best since The Dude.
