My Favorite Movies
Films I simply adore but in no particular order.

Tous Les Matins du Monde (All the Mornings of the World) (1972, Unrated)
Amazing film.I believe I should stop reviewing here because the visual poetry of Corneau is captivating and the gregarious silence is the ideal depiction of the behavior, the conception of music as art.A supreme representation of the era and Guillaume Depardieu in a depressing role make this another modern masterpiece. |
|
| 2 |
Trzecia Czesc Nocy (The Third Part of the Night) (1971, Unrated)
Startling, exuberant drama by a cerebral filmmaker. The cinematography works perfectly in order to describe the futile struggles of a person, hypothetically a diminishing figure of his own self-fragmentation.Confused?It's probably a testament on the future of European post-WWII environment,para-psychology is surrounding the picture and a truly innovative film is born from Zulawski's "possession". |
|
| 3 |
Kyriakatiko xypnima, (Windfall in Athens) (1956, PG) |
|
| 4 |
Beijing Bicycle (2001, PG-13)
The ideal inheritor of De Sica's Bicycle Thief, erupts as a serious contender against composing deals, circumstantial notions and a willing contradiction of ideas.Xiaoshuai is a very underrated Chinese modern trespasser of independent film-making and he sure knows to catch our breath with the flamboyance of his people and characteristics of their self. The finale is amidst the top of 00's. |
|
| 5 |
Winchester '73 (1950, Unrated) |
|
| 6 |
La Chinoise (1967, Unrated)
Anarchy/submission,terrorism/truce,post-structuralism in the making, masterpiece in other words.Godard is aware that '68 will be a turning point in France and worldwide....red to the bone? Can we really say that Chinoise represents a limited part of the audience?Lavishing cinematography and jaw-dropping truths. No matter the side you have in politics, this is a MUST! |
|
| 7 |
Re-Animator (1985, R) |
|
| 8 |
Csillagosok, katonák (The Red and The White) (1967, Unrated)
The division bell is ringing too fast for the weak and meek.Reds,Whites, colors are futile. It's the physical and mental torture that fastens your seat.Whatever occurred in historical manners, this vice-versa irony is entrancing and utterly disturbing, since cruelty isn't measured in uniforms and consequences. |
|
| 9 |
Stella (2008, Unrated)
Have we seen it before? It's possible. All of a sudden, this burst of outlandish situations is what makes little Stella a diverse character on-screen,like she has jumped from an Andersen fairytale engulfed with the most satirical elements from Nouvelle Vague.Barbara is fierce and romantic in her acting,in that her inexperience transforms to a lullaby of anarchy. |
|
| 10 |
Kumonosu Jô (Throne of Blood) (Macbeth) (1957, Unrated) |
|
| 11 |
City of Life and Death (2009, Unrated)
One might raise the hand and question the authenticity of the director's responsibility for executing a precise account of horrifying events,or the sympathy he showed towards Hideo Nakaizumi's role of the Japanese private or maybe giving Gao Yuanyuan her most mature performance to date.Maybe nothing will happen at all and the film will exhume under the roaring blockbusters.Whatever the result will be,Lu Chuan's crescendo is here to stay. |
|
| 12 |
Jungfrukällan (The Virgin Spring) (1960, Unrated) |
|
| 13 |
Oi tembelides tis eforis koiladas (The Slothful Ones of the Ferti) (Idlers of the Fertile Valley) (1978, Unrated)
A crucial turning point of the film is the mystical arousal of the "waitress" thanks to one of the sleeping brothers, embracing a lost caress against the general...boredom of the protagonists.Yes,ladies, gents, boredom is the main concept and how passiveness affects our intellectuality and nobility.I will never comprehend the disillusion of a father prancing with his sons and a woman in a rich villa eating and....sleeping!!!Is the mother's death a metaphor to female absence and organization? |
|

Sansho the Bailiff (1954, Unrated) |

|
| 20 |
La Nuit Américaine (Day for Night) (The American Night) (1973, PG) |
|
| 21 |
Jigoku (The Sinners of Hell) (1960, Unrated)
When Jigoku came out,it was like a thunderstruck for a new wave of J-Horror diamonds to appear in the 60's,something which as an unofficial movement, has stood the test of time till today.Nakagawa might not be the most smart film-maker but by all means,he absolutely knows how to give us creepy realism! The inferno parts are not the only highlight, one must see it as a tragedy of errors in spite of the "thriller" hype. And Numata is such a bad-ass evil dude! |
|
| 22 |
Fantasia (1940, G) |
|
| 23 |
Diavolo in corpo, Il, (Devil in the Flesh) (1987, PG)
The real devil inside of us all.A must-watch for everyone who truly appreciates erotica and swaying emotions in a tale of mischief and explicitness.A sensual fellatio scene,a tempting desire right next to the classroom.Eva/lover and Detmers becomes like a de Sade heroine trapped in a hallucinated world like Alice.Bovary/mistress,all those symbolic processes affect father and son and give Bellocchio worldwide grandeur! |
|
| 24 |
Krzyzacy (Knights of the Teutonic Order) (Knights of the Black Cross) (1960, Unrated)
More romantic than Dr. Zhivago, equally moving to the likes of an Alexander Nevsky or closer to the political turmoil of Traveling Players,a film which has nothing to be jealous of the epic boldness of a Lawrence of Arabia type of feast! |
|
| 25 |
Rosetta (1999, R)
I am enraged.Furious of what's wrong with governments. How to let know Rosetta otherwise, despite being a fictional character she's a manipulative object of the political system subdued by North America/Europe,deliberately powerful for the ongoing "machine" producing puppets to serve the invisible king? For that and only complex reason,Rosetta won't escape her little canteen. |
|
| 26 |
Megalexandros, O, (Alexander the Great ) (1982, Unrated)
A thrilling exultation.Serene insight and captivating sequences, traditional detail whereas Antonutti's pious expiation derives from those fleshes and wounds his people suffer.Alexander, not the great rather the generous is an insurgent.Rebellions and justice "leagues",their leader a man holding a particular silence on all events.Greece as a gloomy, monarchic, terrifying location in the early 20th century shown through Angelopoulos' lens.A master's lens. |
|
| 27 |
The Age of Innocence (1993, PG)
Insightful might,Scorsese had guts and establishes his mark in his last great film so far with every bit of ink this word contains.Patience and ferocious looks,Daniel Day-Lewis grapples the screen, the authenticity of the era is more than luxurious and passionate, the substance of the book's material is simply perfect.Unlike many costume dramas of recent years, this just smacks their face! |
|
| 28 |
The Circle (Dayereh) (2001, R)
Undoubtedly,it's one of the top 10 films of 2000.Justification knows no boundaries and female, psychological suffering is excellently displayed on this film.Real drama, nothing fake to cover the truth.Panahi eluding his road to "sacrilegious perdition" contrary to the customs of Iran,we can say with certainty it's a universal journey.A journey disastrous through the looking glass of a handful of women. |

|
| 34 |
Harakiri (1964, Unrated) |
|
| 35 |
Rendez-vous (1987, Unrated)
Dripping with moist bravado and sexual insight,a provocative illusion by Techine on the sharp edge of his career and beginning of creative roll.Binoche blasts the screen in a classic performance, commercial failure but critical applaud,post-modern theater/cinema interaction and one of the seminal films about sexual frustration and need. |
|
| 36 |
El Sol del membrillo (Dream of Light) (Quince Tree of the Sun) (2000, Unrated)
The complacent portrait of Lopez dwells in the silence and state of fine art retaining the elaborate "auteur" detail which makes Erice's study of conversation, nature, intoxicating feeling such a beloved textbook on time's benefits.Perhaps the simple stuff and as naive as it sounds, just watch those two old men reiterating the past, their affections and the still images of youth. |
|
| 37 |
Hypothèse du tableau volé, L', (The Hypothesis of the Stolen Painting) (1979, PG)"Let us have wine and women, mirth and laughter |
|
| 38 |
In the Heat of the Night (1967, Unrated)
Incorporating violence and police mystery, this engaging drama often fabricates you in the web of agony or twists your head in extreme passiveness.Either conclusions, the finale will leave you a sweet/sour taste of why this had to occur? We don't care about the guilty one,we care about the reason.Steiger and Poiter drive away the whatsoever wee bit flaws and thanks to Jewison's controlling direction,it remains a detective story in absolute detail. |
|
| 39 |
Russian Ark (2002, Unrated)
One-shot and that's it....the course of the rich and wealthy empire of pre-communist Russia unfolds before us,nostalgic sequences towards the cultural landscape of the era,the museum as the pole of connection between distant seasons and timelines. And our host commenting and mingling with the people around him.Aspiring. |

| 44 |
Jag är nyfiken - en film i gult (I Am Curious (Yellow)) (1967, R)
Hasta la victoria siempre and the flags' division!Or so to speak,Lena Nyman baring her flesh and soul (literally) in front of propaganda's nihilism. For Sjoman,Sweden isn't the land of plenty, but Yellow is not a political manifesto.Classifying it as a libertarian proxy would be more suitable, lest there is some sort of moral decency.Oh sorry conservatives, sexuality does matter and it's glued to the hypocrites who refuse it. |

Crash (1996, NC-17)
This is the turning point for all Cronenberg fans. The man knows he's experimenting,so let him be!Dadaist to the bone based on the famous novel,it's a shame he didn't move on this erotical/weird way like he did with Naked Lunch,instead...plunging us in boring "independent" flicks like Eastern Promises. |
|
| 50 |
Az Én XX. századom (My Twentieth Century) (1989, Unrated) |
|
| 51 |
Gallipoli (1981, PG)
Extraordinary. The true essence of anti-war film and a far away journey of 2 immature at first and throughout the film skeptic creatures prolonging a grueling battling experience and the final outcome.Weir is a captain.Steering a prosperous wheel brimmed with philosophy in addition to liturgy.Frisky business for these governments, neither it's a major conflict or a simple quarrel.Bravo Peter. |
|
| 52 |
High Noon (1952, Unrated) |
|
| 53 |
The Ladykillers (1955, Unrated)
An exceptional black comedy from top to bottom. The premise is what made Coens remake this masterpiece, but the plot is destined to remain legendary in British soil.Mackendrick twists our minds with those idiotic burglars (except their boss played by Guinness in style) and the term "madness" is a blast. |
|
| 54 |
My Man Godfrey (1936, Unrated) |

Akira (1988, R) |
|
| 58 |
Force of Evil (1948, PG)
Plausible facts on this one.Aggressive till it bleeds.I saw this film on a cine-club somewhere in Athens. All 5 of us who attended were shocked at the boldness of that period,no,wait: the undercover "beauty" of it.McCarthy was approaching and if Polonsky was given better chances,he'd do miracles with noir stories like this. The edge of small-time con-men as an alternative title. |
|
| 59 |
Pierrot le Fou (Pierrot Goes Wild) (Crazy Pete) (1969, Unrated) |
|
| 60 |
City of Women (1981, R)
Effeminate and the most feminist of all films, none can forget features like Baise-Moi but requires second re-read.While on one hand the glamorous city jolts of tender females, next step proves to be a mere complication of idiosyncrasy.Snaporaz (a fabulous early reference in 8 1/2) is a bargainer and the lesson he'll learn whether it's permanent or not is for the inner female to be unleashed through his curiosity because taming it would be mental (and chauvinistic) torture. |
|
| 61 |
Los Olvidados (The Young and the Damned) (1952, Unrated) |
|
| 62 |
Bambi (1942, G) |
|
| 63 |
Hakuchi (The Idiot) (1963, Unrated)
Hara is the sheer benevolence of the film. You do await the breaking point just like the novel's mystical eccentricities.Kurosawa guides the dramatic community to far beyond limits and stretching a bleak, ominous, malevolent environment.A perfect cinematography and I will give it 6 stars after I grab the 5-hour edition I'm still searching for..... |

The Great Dictator (1940, G) |
|
| 71 |
Ludwig (1973, PG)
What more can you ask when you have an all-star cast of Berger,Mangano,Howard,Schneider,a cohesive prestige of "wealthy pendants" and a brilliant piece of biographical composition.A legendary figure to dedicate this probably,aha...who cares if that individual is a combination of Napoleon,T.E. Lawrence and Caligula? |
|
| 72 |
Lone Star (1996, R)
Lone Star is extremely underrated.Located in Sayles' favorite dimension,a rural county near the border of Mexico-U.S.A.,the film provides us a feisty anatomy of the multiple characters and their well-hidden secrets.Sly and amazingly precise, mistakes of the past are haunting each of our protagonists, with Cooper and Elizabeth Pena giving excellent performances,it's more terrifying than just a simple tale of misconception of events. |

Once Upon a Time in the West (C'era una volta il West) (1968, PG-13)
It's a long film and stylistically redemptive.Fonda is a splendid western evil character and Cardinale escapes her busty temperament as the farmer's wife, and the rest of those wretched souls tantalize the scenery with each provocative attachment.Leone challenged his scope and not even his final opus didn't succeed to overcome this film and one of his 2 great works. |

Cyrano De Bergerac (1990, PG)
Forget the clumsy 1950 version (the outstanding Jose Ferrer is there but the rest is trash) and follow a re-newed Cyrano, anxious, pragmatist but totally imaginative,as Rappeneau cares not only for his main trio, thus leading us in a theatrical bravado of events and modernizing the classic tale in a charming, ironic way. |

| 146 |
Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975, PG)
For what it's worth, ghost stories are at their best when the monumental hour of illusion takes place in the minds of the victims. Not exactly a feminist work of art but the eeriness of the girls and the trembling musical notes assist Weir to film in a surprisingly warm scenery his treatise on questionable events, the mythology behind them and how nature is arguably both a friend and a foe to the living creatures. |

| 153 |
The Man Without a Past (2002, PG)
Gorgeously shot, plenty of irony and numbness whilst our protagonist loiters in a community of weird individuals.Spectacular I say!For Kaurismaki, this is the ultimate view on his philosophy regards to isolation, edging towards a deep melancholy of the heart. The keys of happiness are what Kant used to seek and the beloved director from the north charismatically perceives to grab them. |
|
| 154 |
Young Frankenstein (1974, PG)
Slapstick comedy of the intellectual man.So it looks like.Ingenious spoof on horror films,a big leap for the always hilarious Brooks who erupts the jokes as if he's dictating a screenplay during the film's course.Frankenstein is nothing but a materialistic impressionist. I wonder what Shelley would say of this? |

Amores Perros (2001, R)
Inarritu's wild reeds and the sometimes exasperating frames don't remove the whispers and superb craftsmanship of the consequences of a random accident. The before and after and out of the blue,it becomes clear this conscience which surrounds the crumbling lives of the protagonists is but their intimate distortions. |
|

Mulholland Drive (2001, R) |
|
| 175 |
The Wild Bunch (1969, R) |

Ed Wood (1994, R)
Boom! And there he is,the worst director of all times(?),in the flesh by a master Grimm descendant.Of course he's the worst of his era,we do have a lot more ridiculous directors nowadays, yet it's amazing to see Depp portraying a caricature persona in the making!Hey,there's Orson Welles to top it off,in the acting flesh of D'Onofrio that is. |
|
| 177 |
A Fish Called Wanda (1988, R)
Alright,so it's Pythonic humor,correct?WE cannot deny the importance and abstractness of Wanda.It's unbelievable on how many trashy comedies we're being bombed everyday,but no,Wanda is unsatisfying,cynical humor,mal-functioned screenplay.Oh really?That's why Superbad gets a better rating,how flinching.An 80's w(a)nder,cape comedy at its best. |

Ultimate Mann theoretical destructiveness,a character study like nothing else in the 90's' U.S. stardom, reminds you of those classic Hollywood chases like Bullitt and French Connection in addition to the neat action sequences. The two men are cultivating a predictable but eventually terminating duel.Interchanging diverse events with an amount of characters on an Altman directing style,Mann taking us on a hellish trip with a tensing editing and an almighty score by Goldenthal. |

An elegy of a passionate, disproportionate nonetheless relationship,it's not that a divine creature could have controlled the subsequent actions of Bess,Von Trier IS the maestro who doesn't takes sides for all that matters.he preferably speaks through an alarm clock, the one which vitalizes our inner strength and where religion is (arguably) the "foreigner". |

The true masterpiece by Fosse,I can't forget his delightful musicals, regardless of the stout behavior at times like Cabaret, the man had his perfect share on stage. And look at him,he's involved with a comedian. But what a genius brain.Self-destructive and obnoxious for some.None whatsoever biography can be accurate yet,is it too much to say it's one of the most well-crafted and lust-for-life bio-pics ever made? |

For sake of comparison to the Black Book and only,Soldier of Orange is one of the primary illusions of the WWII aristocratic prosperity,a feast of irony and nostalgia amongst the company of friends in the beginning, dementia and agony in the end.Krabbe's performance crushes Pianists and juvenile Readers.Placed in 1977 greatest films. |

Raging Bull (1980, R)
Aggressive,a flaming piece of an unpredictable explosion, this is the remarkable entrance to the 80's and Scorsese is once again ahead of its time.Brilliant cast, influential cinematography and a head-on insight on a boxer's trifles...it's a pity the Academy was (and is) so conservative in her choices. |

This is pure poetry, subtle and a magnitude compared to amateur attempts of recreating the vast social thoughts of each soldier in battle and private situation. It's a mesmerizing divinity entranced by the sheer landscapes and natural affiliation with human diginity.Nature won't hesitate to counterattack and then no enemies or allies will crush her.Neither true, honorable soldiers nor revisionist commanders.Malick as an innovator of slow-paced moving sight and John Toll's cinematography hits motion picture oil. |

Extremely sadistic and as a fellow film-buff said "a lot of people will either love or hate this film".Charming, for the two opposite sides actually apply to what Funny Games intented from the beggining.Get our utmost attention and make us discuss a very controversial subject, that of violence and unneccessary anarchy. |

The premise of Kill Bill (oh you Tarantino copycat...),brilliantly extracting influences from Hitchcock, probably through their conversation monsieur Francois arranged in an interview style, the Bride is Moreau in her most sexual display and provocative grandeur.Beauty is subjective, revenge is a personal cause, under the surface injustice wears any color possible, detective stories are of course enchanting. The tricks of Truffaut's majesty. |

There are wonderfully underlying moments of liberation in this film.Whoever gives the remark of "why movies with deep meanings exist",the comment must have a primary base,otherwise...it's obvious why this film managed to surpass time itself.Movies like Titanic and Patton will never achieve the bizarre gratitude and the millions of thoughts, talks, imaginations in the universe of Italian magical realism."Being Federico Fellini."I dare anyone to create a film like this in the 21st century. |
|
| 279 |
Dracula (1931, Unrated)
Without a doubt,a magnitude of a horror film.King Kong and Dracula exemplified the monster myth and illustrated a diminishing picture of the evil entity threatening humanity's face.It might not scare as it used to but style is sometimes over substance and Browning knew what to show and HOW to show it. |

Art drenched in mythological symbols, yes? Most certainly, and poesie is included on the humanitarian cycle.Suleiman inherits the Tati syndrome and with a few Keaton persona strife, the facial expression reflects the round-up of his marvelous essence.Divine Intervention is a groundbreaking achievement,Kaurismaki must be jealous not for the political satire but for the deadpan environment!!! |

Excellent musical carnival of souls.Gatlif pretty much adores the subject of ethnicity and identity,so the combination gets out of hand for the delirium's purpose and average occasions emphasize on the meaning of craziness.Prickling on foot?I don't think this will happen here,a fiesta for the living and wild endeavors. |

An achievement of sizzling moments, irrational behavior and savoring...for real the flesh and blood of two human carnivores. The transparent symbolism is obvious.Man will never survive without a guide be it an obnoxious yet incredibly smart art model or the Oedipal complex and the ones who see will unwillingly shout their despair in the form of sexual madness. |

La Maman et la putain (The Mother and the Whore) (1973, Unrated)A humongous effort, this 4-hour epic, unsettling, long dialogue is one of the finest pieces of post-nouvelle vague in the history of world cinema.I hate the main character. And it's ironic because it's somehow flamboyant....the way he rejects the emotional state of the women in his life.Life as a big joke or as a wee bit of adventure simultaneously. One of cinema's most thrilling triplets. |

France as a ship slavery of restrained emotions entangled with a heavy carriage of lone obsessions.France as the antidote which cures the unbalanced reasons, human beings as unwilling engines loitering around with no cause or even future.Jacob is the deus ex machina by mistake of near-death stories,a symbol of constitutional upgrade and a severe hope in times of barren dissolution. The third part of a grand auteur trilogy. |

Letter From an Unknown Woman (1948, Unrated)You have to feel this movie. It's been quite some time and the leftovers are sheer gratitude of the melodrama of our protagonists.Ophuls conquered Hollywood by reversing the stereotypical mechanisms and bringing a fresh air.Fontaine may shine for example yet it's that tormenting the personality she possesses ,you can't bare handling her inner burden of her "lost",solid, possibly inapt love. |

Allonsanfan (1973, Unrated)
Incredible score to begin with.Annihilating performance by the unique Mastroianni. Pitch-perfect representation of the tumultuous Italian division of 19th century.Ignoring the political and social results would be fatal.Taviani are orchestrating through Morricone's music an opera of neoclassicism and reach breaking point in their time of film-making streak. |
|
| 361 |
Le Plaisir (House of Pleasure) (1952, Unrated)
The ending will more or less taunt you because it's like the similar conservative quotation from the other classic film,The Great Dictator, with different themes that is.I preach for your flexible safety, denying to accuse the numbness of the man in the last tale.Nevertheless, let it not prevent you from enjoying this gem.A succulent beauty is a fine-maintained delicacy, preferably on the second story, and passion is the fruitful inspiration. |

I want to break free could be the alternate title, and no,nothing to do with Queen. The sequences prepare even from a trailer that this is no ordinary detective story: it's more like how to execute the perfect story by cursing European authorities. The freedom of Von Trier allowed him to execute for himself a spectacular debut where many similarities of this e.g. color hews would appear in The Kingdom, his mini-series. |

A seminal picture of the new gangster genre. The criminal underground in To's illumination has no limits and no fears as to which is the outcome of any behavior.Sizzling with a dark, nightmarish attitude, superb editing process and a fascinating mood during the action scenes. The Ka Fai and Yam bout is like a chess game. |

I feel that the Wonderland dream-scape is the coming-of-age of a little girl's wrath. There's the evident sign of conventionalism after the finale of an enormous pot-head,er...i mean..illustrious journey such as Alice's.I simply can't believe Disney productions haven't created a similar "traversing" environment like in this film. |

If everyone reads the Hellenistic period classic "Daphnis and Chloe",they will discover the extremely powerful sighs and emotional silences this movie brings, same premise as the book.A wonderful Greek film,a definite must amongst a glamorous and kitsch era in our then film production, sensational cinematography and pagan signs. |

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984, R)
An allegory of those teen flocks swarming the movie-theaters expecting to enjoy the pop corn and they suddenly come to the conclusion they'll throw up.Honestly, this Nightmare may not persuade you to faint or even hide under the sheets yet Craven's flamboyance carries too much of a pride to melt in perpetual gore.Freddy knows it! |

Gomorrah (Gomorra) (2008, Unrated)
Whether you like it or not, cinema has come to an auteur point of disorder,so experimentation is nowadays the brand of practice.Garrone is a freshman although this statement should not refuse us to contradict his methods.Southern Italy as a battlefield.Eisenstein's editing, use of mass and short cuts of human tales are his elements. |

Brief Encounter (1945, Unrated)
Lean's double-headed waltz accomplishes something unbearably beautiful: to challenge the majority of its audience by linking Laura's monologue to the narrow train station of the couple's farewell meetings in a most naturalistic manner,it's as if Johnson and Howard are actual characters, flesh and blood. |

Three Crowns of the Sailor (1982, Unrated)
Short tales of ordinary madness or in our case, uncompromising anarchy. The interaction between two radicals (a student versus an experienced sailor) is but the premise of a psychological duel beyond the dreamland and into the web de mort. What we're witnessing is a journey to the unknown where the finale is more than a catharsis! |

A lush and tis the apocalypse's noon. For who would dare to contradict the Law of Nature? So who am I to prevent an imminent sexual clash? The surface of what's normal or twisted is just an abstraction!Oh yes, prepare yourselves religious ethics, the Law of Man is superior to you!!! |

Autumn Moon (1992, Unrated)
A magnificent, soothing coalition of traditions, personal behaviors,damn...even luxurious narcissism by the "man",Masatoshi Nagase.Urban loneliness if one necessarily demands a particular theme,I am still in awe after watching my first Clara Law picture and her transcending aura is on par to a Thomas Tallis chant or Sappho's elegies, just like the little girl's tender monologues. |

Vigorous and a cutting-edge,special nomination of objectivity goes to Okten's nomadic embrace of these individuals, the outcasts of Turkish society, hardly literate yet who should be judging one's status by classifying them?Guney had the credits before being thrown into jail,I suppose a person's beliefs do affect the political landscape more than often. |
